I had the best experience learning to drive with Mrs. Hedwood. She’s one of those rare instructors who’s not only extremely knowledgeable but also genuinely patient. She explained everything in a way that made it easy to understand and never made me feel rushed or pressured. Even when I made mistakes, she stayed calm, helped me correct them, and made sure I understood why they happened. Her teaching style built my confidence behind the wheel. She gave clear, practical guidance and made every lesson feel structured but comfortable. What stood out most was how much she truly cared about me becoming a safe and capable driver, not just passing a test. If you want an instructor who actually listens, encourages you, and teaches with real skill and kindness, Mrs. Hedwood is the one to learn from.

My 16-year old did segment 1 and segment 2 with A+. I was really worried so I spent extra on the premium driving packages with lots of extra hours. The entire team was calm, cool, and collected and helped guide us through the process with ease. A special shout out to the instructor Nadia, who was AMAZING and went above and beyond to make sure my teen could get over her nerves about the parking drills right before the road test. Today, my teen passed her road test and is ready to drive when she turns 16 next week!

Mr. Walker is a really great instructor, extremely patient and chill. While driving they make sure you're in a stress free environment, and instructors like Mr. Player do really well at teaching students how to drive in roundabouts, sharp turns and more.
I had a great experience here! They are very nice and understanding. I recommend picking them.

What an amazing experience it has been for me. Post doing my research for over a month about all the driving schools in Michigan, I finally choose this Gem. The whole process from me doing inquiry, meeting the Trainers, Joining to School, learning the basic of Truck driving, through Teaching process of doing Inspections, first hand one to one training on road and dedicated truck to train on. The trainers/Instructors were top class. All of them were available all the time. Felix, LT and Rupi are a dream team. Will recommend them to everyone who want to learn Commercial Truck Driving.
Rupie, LT and Adrian are great at what they do here at All Stars. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to get started with their training to come here. I like how they strategically bring only a certain number of trainees onboard so that you have time to grasp, train and learn the technique/ maneuvers of driving the tractor-trailer. With this system it helps speed the process up on getting everyone to testing based on how quickly you grasp all maneuvers vs going to a school where there are too many people training at one time and you have no one on one time which will take you a lot longer to get to the different phases in training and then to testing. They are patient, kind and easy to talk to. Thank you all.

I am a student and I can say that Mr. Abdul is a very patient, thorough, teacher. He gives excellent tips and really wants YOU as an individual person to succeed in his class. My driving skills have skyrocketed within a short time of 3 weeks with Mr. Abdul as my guide. I would recommend this course to anyone who is interested in taking segment 1.
Mr. Abdul was a nice instructor because he was very calm and patient. Unlike other instructors he never yelled at us when we made mistakes, he just calmly adjusted us. He would point out our mistakes as well so that we could learn from them. His lessons were easy to understand, too. Overall, I was very satisfied with Mansib driving school.
Mr. Abdul is a great teacher, he offers plenty of drive time and lessons. His classes are very full with information and instruction about the road not missing a thing! When you are driving he’s sure to calm you down and assist when is needed.
The driving course was really great and Mr. Abdul has been a great instructor. He has given great tips to be a great driver. Other than that I enjoyed learning driving at mansib.

Jay Beck was an exceptionally kind and fair road tester. Initially, I felt a bit nervous, but he put me at ease and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire test. I highly recommend him. If you’re choosing a company for your road test, All Star and Jay in particular are the best!
My daughter had her driving test. Instructor Jay Beck was awesome! He was gentle and vey good with instructions and making my daughter relaxed.
Very streamlined process to register for the test and a super responsive, considerate customer service. The highlight is the road test itself --i took it with Kyle and cannot praise him highly enough. He genuinely tried to calm my nerves as much as was humanely possible. He gave very clear instructions, and offered thorough, thoughtful feedback. To say he was fabulous would be an understatement --he was very perceptive and took the time to understand me as a person and how that translates into my driving. He could have just passed me, without offering me all the tips, but, instead he went above and beyond in sharing suggestions on how I could be a better driver. I am so grateful to Kyle(as are my little kids, who need a safe mommy driver)--All Star has a treasure and our roads are safer because of him! Sal is very good instructor. I had great experience learning how to drive with him. I was allowed to practice parking on my own time on their property. I passed my road test successfully. Highly recommended for new drivers.

I had been struggling to get my driver's license for almost 10 years, battling my fear and anxiety of driving. I tried different instructors in two different states, but they only added to my fear, and I couldn't get behind the wheel. Then, I took a few driving sessions with Mr. Sal. From the first moment, I felt calm. He started with non-crowded areas and the basics, gradually adding more as we progressed. During those sessions, my confidence built up, and I realized how important a good instructor could be. Mr. Sal is polite, understanding, helpful, and patient. He always motivated me without pushing me too far, allowing me to decide when I was ready for the next steps. I took the driving test and passed on the first try because I had practiced enough, especially the parking part of the test, with him. I definitely recommend Mr. Sal to anyone who wants to learn how to drive confidently.

My daughter is due to start drivers training in a couple of days and there was an issue with the student contact (I accidentally answered a question wrong). Aidan was helpful in reaching out to me and letting me know what needed to be fixed. I appreciated that Aidan responded in a timely manner reassuring me that my daughter is still on track for class. My experience with All Star has been amazing and effortless. Aidan McGuire was incredibly helpful in making sure I got my signatures in and responded very quickly with a lot of enthusiasm! I would 100% recommend this company to any other teenager looking to start driving, the communication is very easy.

Our first appointment was cancelled the morning of by the instructor due to being ill which we completely understood. Our second appointment was cancelled due to a disgruntled employee going into the system and cancelling all driving appointments. Again we were patient. My son was called and spoke to someone and got a new appointment time which he confirmed. We show up and they have no idea. The instructor was very nice and called the manager however the manager Dorinda was so rude. No apology, basically called us liars and when u asked for something to be done she said “you are not going to speak to me that way” I was upset but I never said anything inappropriate that would warrant that type of response. It sounds like they need to hire people that care about customer service. I would choose another place to take my road tests in the future. Our experience with them has been a nightmare to say the least.
We have been dealing with not being able to schedule drives with instructor all summer. State requires 30 days past class ending for these students to have drives completed with their instructor- supposed to be available first day of class- it’s been far past that 30 days and he’s just now getting his 4th and 5th drive in and they scheduled the next another month out. They are in non compliance with our contract and refuse to refund. Their lack of instructors shouldn’t be the issue of our students and shouldn’t jeopardize their experience of proper drivers education. To schedule these students so far apart is a huge liability on their learning to properly drive. If we were in breach they take our money and we have to start all over- but if they are in breach they DO NOT offer refunds. I personally will be contacting my attorney to figure out the next steps.

Ron is an incredible driving instructor. I’m 23 and was behind the wheel for the first time. I did about 15 hours of classes and learned SO much in such little time. Ron is super patient, helps you develop a strong defensive instinct on the road, and really gets you comfortable with all sorts of scenarios during his lessons. He’s also experienced getting students prepared for the road test in Ann Arbor so he’ll get students to drive the most frequently tested routes and help you ace the parking maneuvers. All in all, if you’re looking for an instructor in Ann Arbor, I cannot imagine anyone is better than Ron!
Ron is a great driving instructor and I highly recommend him. He teaches basic driving skills and defensive driving in very realistic scenarios. His car has a brake at instructor side so it's extra safe for beginners. He offers pick-up before classes and drop-off after classes. He also knows how to teach students from other countries who have less idea about driving on American roads. He taught driving in Hungarian language in the past. I really appreciate his teach and recommend his class. (It's more convenient to reserve class through telephone than email or message him through his website, at least for me)
I had an absolutely amazing experience with Ron as my driving instructor at A-1 Wall. He is patient and calm throughout, detailed in instructions and helps build great fundamentals. He makes fun conversation which helps ease nerves and get used to conversations with the passenger while driving. I had to get my license on a tight schedule of 3-4 weeks. He went above & beyond to not only ensure I would be ready for all situations on the test, but also helped me get a test booked during a busy time for all testing sites around A2. I would highly recommend this place if you are a beginner.

Very helpful for getting my confidence levels up, and also teaching me the ways of the road. I took a 6 hour session and it was super helpful. I can't believe I feel that confident with driving already. Even my parallel parking feels smooth! Begum was my instructor and was very helpful with teaching me laws and helping me with my parking. I definitely recommend this place.

Learning on how to drive at this school was pretty cool, I met some people that were clowns the whole time but it was fine. My first ever time driving one of the instructors were okay he yelled a lot but it was fine. The lady I didn't get her name, and Hossan was one of my favorite instructors he was nice and also respectful and also gave lots of good compliments!

If you're an adult with driving anxiety, this is the place to go for lessons! Ammar is incredibly patient and a great teacher! He is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to being safe on the road! He'll help you gain confidence in your driving step by step. Each lesson is two hours with a 20 minute break in between. I found the break extremely helpful for my nerves. I highly recommend iDrive! :-)
Ammar is an amazing instructor. I'm not just saying this because I passed my road test on my first try. He is a genuine person, truly cares about his students and helping people get better with driving. If you just follow his instructions, you will pass your road test with no issue. I been taking lessons with Ammar Yousif for the past month and it has been amazing! He is very knowledgeable and explains things in different ways to help you understand it better. He even draws pictures which helped me feel more comfortable in my turns! I was trying to find a driving instructor for so long and I am very happy I found him. Even when I make mistake he does not yell or get angry and is very patient explaining why the mistake is wrong. I feel like I learned very quickly doing lessons with him as someone who has very strong anxiety. Overall, very wonderful teacher and a great investment!
I never leave reviews for anything, but I will for Ammar, because he was the most patient, attentive, thorough driving instructor I could have. I was nervous before my first session, but he made me feel comfortable and relaxed. His teaching style is extremely thorough, so if you're completely new to driving, like I was, he covers all the bases and ensures that your driving skills are adequate in a certain area (e.g. city roads) before moving on to faster zones. He is kind and evidently passionate about his work, overall a great instructor!

I usually don’t leave reviews but 160 definitely deserves it. They took me from never driving a manual or a trailer to me being fast tracked and passing my test on the first try. I want to thank all of the instructors there because it definitely is not a one man army and I know I hounded them all with questions lol. I will say if your truly want this you have to work on it consistently and intentionally and their team will show you the way. 160 in flint is definitely the place to go for your cdl!
I graduated 160 Driving Academy of Flint today (4/18/23) and I couldn't have been happier with this training facility. I successfully completed their Class A CDL training program with flying colors. The instructors were all fantastic! However, I want to especially say that the two instructors I would highly recommend are Penny & Keyon. From the very beginning, I knew Penny was someone I needed to latch onto. Penny was very professional and patient, and extremely knowledgeable of all faucets of driving truck. Penny took me under her wing, and made sure I was where I needed to be. The 160 Driving Academy would be nothing without their dedicated instructors, especially Penny & Keyon. Keyon was truly remarkable when it came to maneuvers as was Penny. Both of them taught me essential techniques that made it possible for me to handle maneuvering with confidence and precision. Keyon was also very patient and an all around great guy to converse with when waiting to get behind the wheel. Tom (yard leader) is an exceptional coordinator and very knowledgeable as well. Aaron is also someone to cling onto, especially when it comes to learning the 90 degree maneuver. Great Academy, awesome people, and good vibes, unconditional support; and honestly, hands down the best Driving Academy out there! Highly recommend it! Take my word for it! I recently graduated from 160 Driving Academy and I now obtain to my CDL. This class is what you make it. The first 2 weeks you are there you will learn the pre trip inspections and you will be tested on youre knowledge on Fridays while also incorporating learning how to drive and do maneuvers with the truck. I enjoyed my time being here and making new friends. I strongly suggest who ever is in youre class with you, to find a study buddy.. A study buddy helps tremendously. It can be very overwhelming at times just remember why you are there, and keep studying! Im gonna give it 4 stars. Im giving it 4 because when I first decided to take the course I was under the impression this is a 1 on 1 training type of thing but its not. There are gonna be times where they dont have any trucks on the lot to practice in. 2 of the trucks are test trucks, and people test all through out the week.I was very frustrated on numerous days for over 3 hours I wasnt doing anything. I already passed the pre trip tests and there was no trucks for me to drive. Several days of doing nothing for several hours was aggravating. LC, and Keon are the best instructors. As they helped me learn everything I now know. Virgil is a great guy as well. As he helped me with the pre trip. Tom is also a great guy.This place was fun and enjoyable on the days you get to do stuff. To who ever is reading this, Good Luck.
160 driving academy was a great school to learn how to use and operate automatic or manual. Shoutout to keon, Lc,Kyle they helped me learn manual and the techniques to maneuvering, The only thing I can say that sucked was not having enough trucks or pits available to get more time behind the wheel other then that the trainers sure did make up for it ! I highly recommend 160 driving academy there ain’t a school like it out there! Also thanks to Tom for all the help he has done and great managing on his part.
160 Drive Academy is a top notch cdl school. If you do your part by listing to the instructors and studying the pre trip inspections you won’t have a problem joining the one and done club. They have some very knowledgeable instructors, Dave and Kyle rock, nothing like having fun and learning along your journey.

Byron was very very rude to me I do not recommend him as I passed the test all he could do after was sit there and tell me I’m not mentally in the game over a couple mistakes witch we all make and after I told him I was nervous he said no your not … like how rude and if I wasn’t mentally in the game I shouldn’t of got my license. I really think he could of been a lot nicer about the way he was saying things 10/10 do not recommend 😕
All of my children (10) have gotten their license through Major Driving School. My last one will be completing his training soon. The kid’s all have different personalities, some are more outgoing and some are quieter, but they have all done really well, and have gone on to be safe drivers. I highly recommend Major Driving School!!
My original review was removed for some reason. Byron is not a nice man. I passed my test, but he was so rude afterwards. He criticized me for being overly cautious and for going 1 mph over the speed limit on the expressway when he had me get in the left lane. He wasn’t wrong in all of his criticisms but he was extremely harsh. There was no reason to be as mean as he was. He really seemed to enjoy making me feel awful. I was already anxious and embarrassed enough about my mistakes, I did not need that. I should be excited and happy about getting my license but I can’t stop thinking about everything I did wrong. If you’re a sensitive or anxious person I wouldn’t recommend testing with Byron.

My experience with Mrs.Tammy was great! She was a good instructor and taught me a lot and made me more comfortable with driving.
I had Mr. Wormbascher as my driving instructor for my last three drives. Before I had him as my instructor I was so nervous and not confident when it came to driving on the road. Mr. Wormbascher was a great instructor & thanks to him I’m more comfortable and confident on the road. He’s very patient, helpful, understanding, encouraging, and gives good pointers on what your strengths are and what things you should practice more when behind the wheel. I recommend him as an instructor for any new driver along with a segment 1 course if you need it as an adult. I can honestly say as a young 24 year old segment 1 was very helpful & affordable.
All drives were really nice, I had a lot of fun and good conversations. Mr. W and Mrs. Compton are both really great instructors, highly recommend driving with both of them.
Good instructors but the classes changed and their method of notifying you are not working. They changed the schedule on us twice and blamed it on my child because she was supposed to log in and monitor a schedule. I had signed up for virtual classes every M-W-F VIA zoom. Wasn’t expecting it to change. She missed a class and they were very rude to me and blamed it on us not logging in to check the schedule. They set her up with a makeup class. Sent a text confirming the make up class the Sunday before, then changed it on the website and did not notify us. Takes forever for anyone to get back to you when you call and no one ever answers the phone.

I decided to try this driving school after reading good reviews about it. I called about a month ago to ask questions and to set up a day to come in. I was told by Miss Evans that I could come in to do paperwork and then schedule another day to drive, because I was told they don’t typically do paperwork and drives on the same day. So I give her my name and set a day to come in and do the paperwork. When the day comes, I get to the office and it’s locked. Nobody is there. So I call the school and once again, Miss Evans answers the phone. When I explain to her the situation, she says she doesn’t remember having the conversation and setting anything up. She asked if I’d made an appointment and if I was ready to drive that day. I said yes, I’d made an appointment, because I thought me talking to her and setting up a day to do paperwork WAS my appointment. However, I wasn’t ready to drive that day because of what she’d said about paperwork and drives not being scheduled the same day. She said it didn’t make sense to come in just for paperwork then, so I offered to come in the following Tuesday (it was Thursday when I came the first time) and do paperwork plus drive, which was the complete opposite of what she told me the first time. I was told to come between 10:30/11am. Tuesday comes and I get to the school at 10:30 and again, no one is there. I called twice and left a message, leaving my name and number and what happened. I waited until 11 to see if anyone would show up. No one ever did, and there was no answer both times I called. As I said, this was around a month ago now and I still haven’t gotten a call back. I find this very unprofessional, as either both times were forgotten by her, or she neglected it twice. Either way, it was unorganized, unprofessional and an overall waste of time. I won’t be trying again.

Fantastic instructors operating under tough conditions. They’re underpaid and under-supported, yet they still deliver. That says everything about their talent.
If you don't want to lose your job, money and will to ever obtain CDL license and drive a truck then stay away from this company! I had a deal with them to take classes and be done in 4/5 weeks but after more than 4/5 weeks I haven't even gotten a chance to turn on the truck nor many other things. Don't go to this driving school for your CDL!

I would not recommend this driving school. I had three different instructors who taught me. Not the same one. On top of that, I barely practiced parking and only had 30 minutes because the lady acted like she had an attitude. Even though this happened a while ago, I wish I would’ve did more research on finding good driving training.
My daughter completed both Segments 1 and 2 with Motor City Driving Academy, I couldn’t have asked for a better facility! They were all very professional and kind. My daughter also enjoyed doing her driving lessons with the instructors. They were patient and made her very comfortable. My daughter is a competitive dancer and their available schedules aligned perfectly with ours! Thank you again Motor City Driving Academy!
My driver instructor was Mr. Ross. Great techniques & instructions were giving. i was taught many different ways how to parallel park and by far his way is way better and understanding. Mr Ross was really nice instructor and I would recommend driving with him any day. He makes sure your ready to do the actual road test and he also explained everything more than once so you get it on the first or second try it was a really good experience and I felt a lot better doing this practice before my actual test. clear instructions either on the road and how to improve mistakes I made and was always extremely patient. 10/10
Absolutely horrible experience. Adult daughter registered and provided availability, was told they could accommodate. Immediately the driver assigned wasn't available, driver tried to schedule appointments at times daughter wasn't available, driver would try to schedule last minute appointments, canceled appointments/repeatedly gave excuses for rescheduling, no one would return emails, no response to requests for different driver and tried to blame daughter for lack of availability despite daughter being consistently available for original time given. Few sessions she did have were few and far between.. not beneficial at all. FINALLY gave her half a refund. So very disappointing as we deliberately choose a local, minority represented business. If I could have chosen zero stars I would have.
What can I say about Motor City Driving Academy that many others here have not already said? Simply put, they are, hands down, THE best driving school in the metro Detroit area. My instruction was provided by members of their staff (Mr. Rodgers, Ms. Leslie and Ms. Ross) who taught me the fundamentals of driving and the essential components of the driving skills test required to obtain my Michigan driver's license. During my sessions, staff provided me with both positive and constructive criticisms which I believe were very helpful in improving my performance and preparing me to successfully pass the driving skills test. Overall, I am very pleased with the instruction I received, and is thankful to the staff for their time, patience and professionalism. I definitely recommend the Motor City Driving Academy for these reasons and many more!

I loved the class and the opportunity to learn how to drive the safest way, the all star way! I really loved the way that the instructor Mr.Brown was really patient with students in our drives, he made me feel safe and ready when it was time to get behind the wheel. The way he taught the class was fun, interactive, and straight to the point. I highly recommend it!!
Mr Brown is a very good instructor and I had a really good time learning to drive with him. He did great. He did good making sure the class wasn't too boring and was always very supportive on our drives with him.
Mr. Brown is literally the best teacher I’ve ever had, he even said he’ll throw us a pizza party at the end!

Thanks to Sidney I passed my drivers test the second time around from not knowing anything about driving to knowing a lot of about driving and the common sense of driving I’ve finally received my drivers license after 4 to 5 months got passed it yesterday the day before my birthday thank you again. Rite Way Driving School was excellent-we did Segment 1 for my teen daughter. She said classroom instruction was informative, clear and provided great test preparation. Driving was safe with calm, patient instruction on a variety of road settings. The owner made her feel comfortable from day one. Since the class, she has confidently and safely practiced with us--we clearly see that great instruction shine through. I am so glad we found it and we will be returning for Segment 2.
For someone that has never drove before and never had their license, I would truly and honestly recommend Sydney to anyone that is looking for an amazing and very well knowledge and patient person to teach you everything that you will need to know and in the proper way for driving. He is 100% straight forward and tells you how it is and is definitely not like most other driving instructors out there. Claudia is only in it for the money I used her car didn’t even make it to the highway saying I was going to fast (Which I wasn’t I checked how fast I was going) just a terrible instructor I don’t recommend going here it’s a waste of time and money
I took my road test here and had a great experience. The examiner, Mike, was very kind and professional, which made the whole process much less stressful. He knows a lot about Chinese culture and even speaks some Chinese! I highly recommend this place for students from China. Although online booking is not available like at some other locations, scheduling over the phone was smooth and easy. Just make sure to confirm the payment method in advance to avoid any inconvenience. I came all the way from Ann Arbor—it's a bit far, but totally worth it. If you're also a Chinese student and had a good experience here, please consider recommending this test site on Xiaohongshu or other Chinese platforms to help more students in the area. Overall, a very positive experience—big thanks to Mike and the team!

I took classes from Floyd and took my road test with Claudia. Floyd is a very skilled trainer. He taught me all the tactics of driving so well that I can say I am very comfortable and confident in driving around now. Claudia was very calm throughout my test. I was nervous as most of the first time drivers. I took my lessons with Susie. She was a very patient, compassionate, and kind teacher who taught me exactly what I needed for the test and what the examiners are looking for. She also pinpointed what I need to improve on, which was very helpful to think about before the test. Her instructions for parking was extremely helpful, as I just needed to repeat what I practiced with her on the test. I took 4 lessons with her and passed the test! In addition, Claudia was my examiner, and she made me feel less nervous throughout the test, and was very nice and patient as well. I highly recommend here!

Brandon Steiner was a very excellent teacher he was very patient and his advice he gave me on how to drive really helped me so much improve as a better driver he is very nice and calm and won’t get mad at you if you make a mistake he is a overall 10/10 teacher I recommend him.
Pat Spagnuolo and Brandon Steiner are both awesome driving instructors. Everyone I spoke to at the head office of official driving school was also very polite and extremely helpful. Anytime I needed to add, reschedule or cancel a class and or test.

I Took driving lessons with Dean and cleared the driving test. He is a wonderful, and professional driving instructor. We practiced freeway driving, Back Parking, and parallel Parking as part of the on-road practice sessions. This is the Best driving school in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Thank you so much.
This was a terrible experience. If I could do it over, I would never have my daughter go to this school. Sohail was irritable and snapping his fingers in my daughters face while she was driving. He never taught her to back up into a parking spot which is needed. He then yelled at myself and her when we were practicing how to backup into a parking spot at his laundry mat his family owns. He told us to go to the movie theater parking lot to practice on a Saturday night, while his parking spot had 2 cars in and was not busy. When we told him he taught my daughter and we were not disturbing anyone, he yelled " Your disturbing me!". He didn't recognize my daughter that he had taught both sessions for and did all the driving with. He is not a nice person, a terrible teacher, and is only in it for the money. I would never recommend this place for anyone.
Be careful with the male instructor. While dropping my kid off at Kumon I pulled into a spot, I will say was not a parking spot( nor are there no signs no parking or standing) I was not staying I was just allowing my to walk out right into the building, the instructor comes out and asked me to move I said give me one second my son is coming out he asked again as my son was coming out and I answered give me a second as I was saying that he started calling me trash, if these are the instructors your trust with your children be careful!
Took the driving lessons with the lady and passed their road test on the first try. She picked me up at my home/work and she was always punctual. She was an excellent teacher and I trusted her in keeping myself safe operating the car as an inexperienced driver. The examiner was professional, gave clear instructions and kept the examination process smooth and pleasant.
It is a very helpful and professional place to have a driving lesson and road test! I had a two hours driving refresher lesson with Suhail. He helps me familiar with the traffic rule of the United States and built my confidence for the road test. And Simon is a very professional examiner. He is also super nice and makes me feel comfortable and relax during the test. Finally, I passed the road test. Thank you guys for such fantastic service! I will defiantly recommend Ann Arbor driving school for the driving lesson and road test. Nice job!

This driving school is one of the best around they have the friendliest knowledgeable driving instructors. I wouldn’t go to any other drivers training school.
We opted for Main Street Driving because of their three day a week for four weeks approach to classes. It allowed our teen to participate in other regularly scheduled activities alongside school work and driving. Our experience was top-notch and scheduling the drive times was easy. Our other teens will attend here when they reach driving age as the location is convenient and the instructors are thorough. They only employ former school teachers as they have years of experience relating to teens and delivering instruction in a clear and calm manner.

Didn’t go here, but had Mr. Bates as my driving instructor back in 2019 and absolutely loved how fun he was to talk to and how during one of the drives he mentioned wanting to start his own driving business. I just drove past his sign yesterday and got so freaking excited to see it happening. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. He’s incredible at calming nerves, correcting mistakes, wonderful at making lessons stick, and I feel safer on the road knowing his school is in my area teaching people how to drive. My best friend Maria and I still have inside jokes from his classes and I truly mean from the bottom of my heart, this is the best driving instructor you can get. Our child who has learning disabilities was greatly accommodated and enjoyed attending class every week. They had heard horror stories about other driving schools and came home excited after every class and wanted to attend every week. The instruction was superb, and we will be going back for a segment two soon! I cannot recommend Mr. Bates and this driving school enough!
I had an amazing time taking adult driving lessons with Mr. Bates! Before, I had some unpleasant experience with driving instructors at another academy and I was pretty nervous to restart my driving lessons again, but Mr. Bates was really calm, clear, and made me feel comfortable behind the wheel with his instructions. He let me take my time practicing areas I'm not too confident at, and really patient throughout. He pointed out what might get you points deduction on the road test, and complimented when you got something right or did something well. Thank you Mr. Bates!
I was skeptical about letting my kid go here. We were in a crunch though because the school my other kids went to was booked. I was surprised to sign my kid up only to find out that this new school is ran by Mr. Bates who was my other kids teacher at the last school they went to. All my older kids went to his other school and loved having him as their teacher. He is a public school teacher during the day and knows how to talk to kids to make sure they aren’t too anxious. He has always been patient, caring and they still say him when we see him around town. He remembered exactly who my other kids were without me even mentioning them. The office is hard to find since he hasn’t gotten a sign yet, but it’s in a more convention location a g right off Lake Lansing Road between Harrison and Abbot. Ge had plenty of spots open since he started his new school, so you will have no problem getting in for now. I can’t say enough good things about Mr. Bates. My daughter was a bad driver and now she is a “BAD (Bates Advanced Driving) driver”.

I’m sharing because I was so scared to bring my son here after reading reviews. We had Al A as our instructor at the 28th St location. Al took his job seriously but was very fair to work with. My son passed his first try. After the test Al shared the same advice he shared to his own daughter. I will bring my daughter here when she is ready to test.
I was barely able to get through on the phone to schedule classes and testing. My driving instructor Karen was extremely rude and I was so disappointed . I ended up going elsewhere.

Good driving school.
My son did his driver's training here and I'm satisfied with the service I received for the price. My son has a greater knowledge of the dos and don'ts of driving and he has a confidence while driving. I would recommend to other parents looking for a quality driver's training. Mr. Derrick and Mr. Swinger made this class easy for me to learn how to drive.

Mr Derrick is the worst teacher he can’t hold a decent sentence without making it utterly impossible to understand what he is saying or he will slur his words. He was extremely rude and unprofessional in class. I will NEVER recommend Allstar to anyone at all.
