Two of my children went through Silver Lake Driving School and we had a wonderful experience both times. It was easy to schedule the classes and the behind the wheel. The online classes worked great since they were live and interactive. My kids passed their permit test on their first attempt. The driver picked the kids up at our home so the behind the wheel was convenient.
I had a great learning experience with Darrin. He was very kind and patient in explaining every aspect of my insecurity. He offered many options for your classes and procedures, so you can easily accomplish them, as he would say. I was able to pass my exam with his help. I am very grateful. He made everything enjoyable.
I took 6 hour behind the wheel lessons and it was outstanding! My brother and I took lessons with both Denys and Darrin and they were amazing. They were extremely patient throughout the lessons and made us feel really confident. Matt was also an amazing person with a great sense of humor, and special thanks to him for taking the time on a weekend to help us schedule the road test. Definitely recommend this place!

I had a great experience with Mr. Ali. He is an excellent instructor. From the beginning, he was very accommodating, arranging my classes on weekends to fit my busy schedule. When I had to reschedule my driving test due to an unforeseen situation, he was extremely flexible. He provided great tips for both road driving and parking, and his cars are in excellent condition. Thanks to his guidance, I passed my test on my first attempt and now I have my license. I also want to mention that he was always very punctual. Definitely a five-star experience!

Unbelievable coaching experience help me first time past the road test. The coach is really good. They help me use the car very well. Right now i get my license.
I’m 17 and just passed my driving test today, and I honestly couldn’t have done it without Amaano Driving School! I had previously taken the test with a different school and failed, which really shook my confidence and made me not even want to drive anymore. A few weeks ago, my mom booked me some lessons with Amaano, and I’m so glad she did. From the very first lesson, they made me feel more comfortable behind the wheel. We went over everything I had learned before, practiced a lot, and they really helped me rebuild my confidence. The instructors were patient, clear, and encouraging, which made a huge difference. I only did a couple of lessons, but they were focused and effective. Thanks to Amaano Driving, I felt prepared and calm during my test, and I passed! I definitely recommend them to anyone, especially if you’re nervous or have had a rough start like I did
I had such a great experience with Amano Driving School! The instructors are super patient and make you feel comfortable even if you’re nervous at first. EDI did a wonderful job teaching our daughter about driver's education. She stayed engaged throughout the entire course and had positive things to say about the instructors and the program. I appreciate their flexibility and great communication. I truly believe that EDI has the best interest of all of the students in mind. I'd recommend EDI to anybody.
This was my son's first real experience driving in Rochester. He really enjoyed Mike, and feels "like a professional driver" now haha he said Mike made him feel very comfortable and explained things really well so that he understood.
Highly recommend EDI! They did great teaching our daughter. She enjoyed the behind the wheel. Adam Olig was her instructor and did a great job!
A mixed bag. Cons: Instructor for classroom portion was not set up with microphone, and attendees could not always hear very well. Instructor for classroom portion made a number of political comments, which is unnecessary and unprofessional (my take, no matter the "leaning" of the comments). Instructor for classroom portion offered students candy in return for leaving 5-star Google reviews. Definitely tacky and left me wondering what kind of ethics are behind the business as a whole. Pros: Instruction booklet is well organized and presents information very well. Driving instructors were diligent about letting us know of cancellations/changes on their end.
The online course was a great fit for our daughter and her busy sport schedule. The classes were engaging and well planned out with great material to stay on track. She really enjoyed the instructor and our family highly recommends this as a choice for anyone looking to get started with their driving education and needing a flexible at home zoom option.

Tom really knows his stuff. He is super encouraging and was also not afraid to get me out of my comfort zone. Even after some very nerve wracking days and making mistakes, he was always there to reassure me that it’ll all work out with time and practice. I just got my Class A license with him and couldn’t be happier with the school that I chose. If you want to go to a CDL school where you can go at your own pace, be one on one with an instructor (Tom), and have a good laugh, this is the place to go. Thank you Tom for the opportunity and the knowledge that you have provided to help me in my future endeavors.
Tom is a great guy and will teach you everything you need to know to pass your test and he will also teach you a lot of real world trucking skills. He’s very passionate and dedicated to get you where you need to be to comfortably operate a big rig and be successful in truck driving. Couldn’t have asked for a better instructor!
I could not be happier choosing The CMV Tutor for a truck driving school. I have gotten my commercial learner's permit multiple times in the past, but was never able to get my license due to not having good schools/training where I lived. Thanks to Tom and The CMV Tutor, I was finally able to get my Class A License, and feel ready for an entry level driver position in the trucking industry. I am a full time Diesel Technician, so I was specifically looking for a school where I would be able to attend lessons during the evening hours or weekends. Tom is excellent at making time for his students and getting multiple lessons in during the week. If you want CDL driver lessons from someone with years of experience of driving and teaching, this is the school. Tom puts you through real-life driving scenarios (road construction, weather, multiple driving routes, etc.), which is so helpful for getting you more comfortable behind the wheel. You will actually learn how to drive a truck, not just how to pass the test. I went from having to ask my coworkers to pull trailers into the shop for me, to being able to comfortably maneuver a Semi tractor/trailer through rush hour traffic. I really cannot thank Tom enough for what he does.
I have had my class a for over a year but had an auto restriction on my license. CMV tutor was the only place in MN I could find that could work with me to learn to drive a manual and get that restriction removed without trying to cram it in in a week long refresher course. You'll get one on one training and will go at the pace that works for you to get you to where you're ready to test. I had Tom as my trainer and he did a great job. I would recommend CMV tutor for anyone that wants to learn to drive a manual truck and get your class a.
I took the Hazmat training course and it was very helpful and easy. The instructor pointed very useful information and I aced my test on the first try I highly recommend CMV Tutor LLC for getting a CDL or training courses on any Endorsements

I can’t say enough good things about this driving school! As a single mom, I was really struggling to find a school that could fit my daughter in on short notice, I had no idea how quickly they fill up. But Eric and Brandon were amazing. Brandon worked with our short timeline and even handled pick-up and drop-off, which was such a huge help. My daughter was initially nervous about driving with a male instructor, but Brandon’s kind demeanor and teaching style put her at ease almost immediately. She came home after each lesson more confident and kept telling me about things like “SMOG” and “cover and check” clearly, she was actually learning and retaining important skills. If you're looking for a professional, compassionate, and truly student-focused driving instructor, this is the place to go!
We had a wonderful experience with Heavy D Driving School. Eric was very consistent in his communication, was organized and easy to work with. My daughters both had Alicia for their driving instructor. She was always on time & sent a text the morning of a lesson as a reminder. My daughters both said they were happy to have lessons with Alicia. Each one said she was kind, made them feel comfortable right away and was encouraging throughout each lesson. I would highly recommend using Heavy D for both drivers ed class and behind the wheel.

I had a great experience at Alamo Driving School. They have good teachers that teach very good and they talk clear. I went there for my 30 hours of classroom and I learned a lot more things about driving. I finished the 30 hours and got my blue card and passed the knowledge test at the first try. Then i went back to do the 6 hours Behind The Wheel and the Instructor, Mercedez, was a very good instructor and taught me a lot of things to become a better driver. After that I took my Road Test and passed it at the first time too. I will recommend Alamo Driving School because they are so great and know what they have to do to help their students become excellent drivers. Thank you very much Alamo Driving School!

I am very happy with my results within 2 weeks of finding the school I set up lessons took them all and ultimately passed my Road test all of this within 2 weeks. They literally prep you in every way possible they want you to do well and pass your test. Alamo school has helped me over the years, 2013 they helped me get my license, then in 2018 they helped my oldest daughter get hers. And now 2022 im here with my youngest daughter and they are helping her get her permit, then her license. I appreciate Mohamed Abdullaahi and his team. It’s a great school, and he’s a great teacher.
Mohamed is a great instructor. He is blunt and very serious about his job. He would say as it is so you improve every minute you are in the car with him. He brings his knowledge as a former examiner with him, sk you get the first hand instructions. I passed my road test after having him sitting in the car with me just one afternoon. Extremely helpful and reliable. Other than that, he is a super cool person, too. I enjoyed the conversations with him. The teaching wasn't boring or frustrating at all. Highly recommend.

I had a very good experience with this driving school. Karma made me confident on how to drive. He is a professional instructor, I would highly recommend karma. You will not be disappointed.
Learning to drive with Karma was a fantastic experience. He’s extremely patient, calm, and professional, which made me feel comfortable and confident behind the wheel right from the start. Karma explains everything clearly and always made sure I understood what to focus on to improve. He never made me feel rushed or nervous, even when I made mistakes instead, he used every moment as a learning opportunity.
Kwame helped me gain confidence in driving on all types of roads. He was patient the entire lesson and he taught me easy tips to follow when parallel parking and backing up into a 90 degree spot! I feel that it was the confidence boost I needed to start driving more
After taking the road test a couple times. I finally passed with the help of the instructors here, especially Karma. I would 100% recommend him if you plan on booking a behind the wheel. You can truly tell he is passionate about his job and wants his students to succeed. Good luck to anyone reading this and is worried about taking the road test. You got this, especially if you do it with Karma.
Karma is a good instructor, he makes sure I know all the roles of driving by taking me for road training. He explains every necessary mistake made during driving and tells you exactly what I was going to face during the test. Great place to take CDL-A training
The whole team at 160 was fantastic. The branch manager Alex made signing up and scheduling very easy. He was very knowledgeable about the current rules, regulations, and requirements. The field instructors Shawn, Jim, and John were top notch. They all have lots of real world experience, which shows in their teaching. If you want to learn how to drive truck the right way from a great group of gentlemen, and have fun doing it, then I would highly recommend 160 Driving Academy in Rochester. I started driving truck 2 weeks after obtaining my Class A with 160 and I feel extremely confident driving out in the real world no matter what situation I run into. Again, highly recommend this school.
Great school, the instructors are very knowledgeable and easy to get along with. They made getting my CDL a breeze and helped me find a job as well!

This place is incompetent, the owner James has absolutely no work ethic and when he picked up my call he was extremely rude and made up terrible excuses.
The instructors try to coerce their students into taking the vaccine. This is WHOLEY INAPPROPRIATE!
We were overjoyed with the services we received. Our son is now a great driver.
Distance learning system failed my daughter, who had been signed up for a single class for well over 6 weeks. Link to join class was not sent to her before class began; she called the school and a gentleman arranged to send a new link — 15 minutes after class began. She joined the google meet and didn’t see a teacher and no one was talking, was removed from the meeting. Tried joining again, was not accepted in. Finally was allowed into the google meet and Michelle Wood was short and rude, making my daughter feel she was to blame, even though error was the school’s. After my daughter was explaining herself, Michelle said she didn’t want to argue and that the students were trying to read and learn and told her she could reschedule her class for the 25th.
Awesome, They helped my daughter 100% worth a 6 star review. My Daughter Started out at a different driving school, with Only 2 behind the wheel session left, the behind the wheel driver for that school got hurt and could not finish my daughters Behind the wheel. We already ready had her Drivers test for licensee set up. I called this school explaining our situation, with out hesitation they asked for paperwork of previous work done at other school and let her in.. *** NOTE*** This issue was Time Sensitive, They worked it out that my daughter knew everything and the turn around time is mind blowing. my Daughter passed and now Driving.. I do, I will and already have recommended this school.
