If you are looking to obtain your CDL, this is the place to go. Dave, the yard master, has the patience and the professionalism to teach you the basics for operating a manual drive transmission. He also ensures that what you learn in the yard, is what you see on the test. Ed keeps things rolling in the office. I highly recommend 160 Driving Academy for all of your CDL learning.
I found 160 driving to be helpful and worthwhile. My instructor was Tracy and she was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to help not only me but those that also put in the time and effort and showed they wanted to be there. Yes living in montana provided some down days as the weather either affected the trucks or the terrain, however she made sure we were still doing something. I have seen some negative comments directed at her personally and I have to disagree with them. She is not there to babysit anyone and as we are all adults some self initiation is needed. During my class time students chose to sit in their vehicles where it was warm. That’s on them no one else. As to go as far as saying she will not help any lady succeed that’s bs. I myself am a women and passed both my written and driving tests the first time with her as my instructor, and I am a difficult one to handle. I have recommended to anyone that has asked to get in with Tracy because she will share as much as she can and help anyone and everyone along the way!
Great school! Shout out to the drive instructor David Dietrich for his knowledge and patience! My classmates were awesome and fun. As a woman I was treated with respect and kindness. I would strongly recommend this school for everyone!! I took my test 1 and done!! If you want your CDL, use these guys!!
The Billings, MT team was caring, professional, and motivated to see me succeed. The times I struggled--with the digital classroom and hooking up to the Internet: Craig the knowledgeable instructor with decades of driving experience and/or Ed the proficient branch manager went out of their way to with with my non-technological self; With the basic skills it double-clutching: David the lead instructor and Randy the veteran driver with over 1,000,000 miles under his belt were right there to help me get the job done. Anyway, I'm rambling. I earned my CDL! Thank you 160 Driving Academy. And thank you for the above and beyond advice about how to be a good safe driver, Randy--and for the advice that will keep me out. You're good people. Respect. Semper Fi.
David and Edmund are really great people they taught me everything I needed to know to get my class A CDL im very thankful for everything they’ve done for me if you’re looking to get into trucking these guys are top tier if you wanna get it!

Needed a truck to take my class A CLD Test last minute. Our truck became unavailable day of. They came through and we got way more than a truck!!! I got a 1.5 hour run through of the pre trip, road test, drive time and lots of tips!!! Then had a great truck for the test and passed!!!

Super great experience really taught me what I needed to know to pass.
Graduated on 09/07/2023. Difficulty I recommend this to anyone who’s trying to get their CDL. All the instructors will help you with everything to prepare you to be your best, when you take your test. During training if you think you are lacking any part of training, don’t be scared ask the instructor, they are there to help you so make sure to use them to answer your questions. Shout out to Joe and Andrew you guys are a really good instructors.
I have not used my CDL yet but I can say the equipment I drive underground in the coal mine, if it were to be a surface mine I would need the CDL. The skills I learned have helped me become a better operator. I don’t plan on working in the mine long so I am excited to use my cdl soon. The Sage truck driver school was awesome and helped me learn more than what I thought I knew. I would encourage everyone to go because without the school I would not have known what to study. All of the instructors were awesome and very knowledgeable.
Sean and Chris were great instructors. Sean was very thorough when I had any questions. Chris was very informative and helped me stay calm they both helped me in overcoming my nerves and anxiety I would recommend anyone doing cdl training to do the manual course as to not have the manual restrictions. On your license.
Sage Truck Driving School is the absolute best. In four weeks I was able to learn everything I need to know and pass the final CDL test the first try. Sean and Bob are great instructors who both have a lot of experience themselves to help you obtain your CDL. You also get one on one with the instructor every time you drive with is really nice to be able to improve and learn your skills. Sage is the best and thank you guys for helping me obtain my CDL!
