My experience was great other then me being nervous. I highly recommend this school! The instructors are a father & son duo that work extremely well together. They made the class relatable, personable, and very easy to learn. The information was broken down so that it was not only a breeze to understand, it was also very easy to gain confidence in the knowledge. Personally, I was so confident and comfortable going into the testing that I passed on the first try. If you need a CDL school, this is the one to take.

I only went to the Scool for 1 day to do my road test and pretrip examination, but the people here couldn't have been more helpful. The office staff will answer all of your questions and help you every step of the way. The instructor or coach was great. The Examiner, Mr Leonard, is no joke but he was more than fair and patient. If you want to learn how to operate a commercial vehicle safely, responsibly, and professionally, then attend this school. They will make sure you are ready before they sign off on your license. I'd give them 6 stars if I could.

I recently took the basic riders course and it was a great time! Lots of good learning, step by step instructions with examples and a nice riding range. Shout out to Kat and Matt for being awesome and making the class a blast as well as sharing real life stories with the group. I will definitely be looking to do basic riders course 2 with ABATE in the near future. Thanks you guys. Keep up the great work!

I had a wonderful experience during my Basic Rider Course! Matt and Kat were wonderful instructors and gave me all the tools to feel safe and confident on a bike. The class was informative, well paced, and super fun! I can’t recommend this class and my instructors enough!

I just finished my Basic Rider Course today! My instructors Matt and Kat were awesome and made the whole experience so much more fun and wayyy less nerve racking on the skills portion. It is so good to be able to start off my motorcycle journey on the right foot and am blown away by how well done the course is. Mainly in part because of Matt and Kat. Honestly once you get on a bike you’ll be hooked. Highly recommend. Thank you A.B.A.T.E!

A.B.A.T.E. is truly outstanding! Before this, my only experience was with a bicycle—no motorized dirt bikes or anything similar. I started with the IME introduction class, which provided me with a solid foundation of motorcycle knowledge. Then, I took the Basic Rider Course. Although I didn't progress to the next session initially, I appreciated that safety is a top priority in this high-risk sport. Bonnie was incredibly kind and accommodating when she rescheduled me. She took time out of her day to share her inspiring testimonies as a beginner rider, which was very encouraging. Now, I'm thrilled to be standing in line at the DMV/UMV to get my motorcycle license because I passed the Basic Rider Course! A huge thanks to the various staff and the supportive motorcycle community. Special shoutout to Jo and Anastasia for their professional instruction—they were thorough, paced the lessons well, and made the experience fun and informative. They shared many valuable tips and tricks, and I particularly enjoyed the "ah-ha" group reflections after each exercise. A.B.A.T.E. truly sets the foundation for this exciting journey! I'm already looking forward to scheduling my Basic Rider Course 2 class soon. Highly recommend!

This class was very helpful and I learned quite a bit from it. Mrs. Shannon, Mrs. Ruth, and Mr. Ceasar were all great teachers and were very good about offering advice. The only trouble I had with the class is that the Remind app only works on mobile devices and I had to have my parents email everything to me which caused confusion because they would forget. However, that's not really the driving schools fault and overall it was a good experience and I would recommend it to another person needing to learn the basics of driving.

The instructors care about the students but the communication could be better.

I am beginning to drive, and am loving how great these teachers are, I have really enjoyed being with them, they are all very professional and calm, definitely recommend for new drivers!!!

I would so dearly love to give a positive review, because Mrs. Ruth was so nice--but, in good conscience, I can't. Worst things first, during my very first drive with Mrs. Ruth, she spent the entire time staring at her phone. She was trying to figure out who'd bumped one of their cars in the parking lot, but that meant that I--someone with near-zero driving experience--was essentially driving completely unattended, because she wasn't paying attention. They were a nightmare in terms of communication. We didn't know when the zoom class was happening until about 4 hours before when we got an email about it--we asked why that was, they said that parents complained if they sent the email too early, which seems unlikely. I didn't even get the email at all because of an issue with the form, which they didn't tell me about until after the class. If my partner hadn't also been in the class, I would've missed this required lecture. Of course, other than the course requirement, I really didn't miss much from the lectures. Each lecture consisted mostly of Mrs. Ruth playing a pre-recorded video that she must have licensed from some other company. She would go out of her way to disable subtitles on the videos (making them harder to understand). One time the video was entirely in French, which she did not seem to think was an issue. Between videos she would ask questions, and we would have to text her the answers to prove we were paying attention. That'd be nice if the questions were answerable, but they were often vague and seemed to rely on mind-reading; one such question was "what must you always remember to do?" Can you guess what the answer is? Because if you didn't answer "leave space around your vehicle," you just failed buddy. The lectures were recorded so we could watch them at our leisure, which was nice. Unfortunately, one time the audio failed for half the lecture. We still had to do the homework, even though we had no way of knowing what she was saying. The entire course was a mismanaged, at times actively dangerous disaster. It breaks my heart to have to leave this review about someone who was so nice to me, but somebody needs to tell the truth.

The his class was great for me to take. It was very informative and I feel a lot better about driving. The instructors are always patient and helpful and don’t put you down, while still filling in the gaps in your knowledge and helping you correct mistakes.

Amazing experience with this academy! They offered the skid car training I had wanted but I didn't even know if anyone in town was offering it. The classroom training, that's 2 hours. More instruction then competitors, plus the skid car, plus the driver's exam was $5 less than the competitors that offered not nearly as much. We had some special circumstances during the driving time which they accommodated and focused on my daughter having a positive experience. Absolutely wonderful to work with, flexible, caring and informative. And informative. I highly recommend and if I had a second child they would be going here too. My instructor was very friendly and wonderful! He really helped me become more comfortable when driving, and I had a fun time learning as well.

I took the class and I am a teenager. I believe I learned some very valuable this class. The corse I took has possibly saved my life since I have been in a few skidds and this class gave me the right information for how to successfully get out of a skidd. Money well spent

The instructor Brian is a fantastic teacher who taught my older daughter to drive previously. We sought him out again so my younger daughter could receive his excellent instruction. She loved the class and it was definitely money well spent. She also took the Skidcar class and learned everything she needs to know to be safe on the snow and ice this winter. We highly recommend Alaska Safe Driver Academy.

As an adult newish driver, I benefited a lot from both the in class course and the driving lessons! The instruction was wonderful with lots of examples, useful tidbits and lots of time behind the wheel. I learned a tremendous amount and would recommend the program to both adult and and young drivers!

I did a class here to get points removed from my license , the instructor is one of the best type of people you could have instruct a class like this , he was well spoken , very respectful, and knowledgeable about safe driving , he wants you to win not lose , can't say this about every body in the world but he's just one of those big hearted people that wants best for everyone in life regardless of your walk of life or any type of upbringing. 5/5 without the instructor they have the class wouldn't be the same in my opinion , he actually cares about students and driving safety .

Great driving school and experience. Everyone working there was easy to get along with, and I never got bored while driving with Butch. He is a unique teacher, but it just makes the lessons more engaging. On top of all that-- you can tell he knows his stuff. I went from uncomfortable behind the wheel, to driving across town and looking forward to it. I can even parallel park without a second thought! Just passed my drivers test, and I'm confident the skills I learned here will stay with me for life. Big "thank you!" to Be Smart Driving Academy!

Butch was a wonderful teacher, he made me very comfortable and made driving less intimidating. i’m very grateful to have gotten the opportunity to work with him and his team!

Mr.Butch and his team are truly the best in town. I couldn’t imagine myself going with other driving school. I appreciate the fact that despite my age (older 😬) compare to other students, I had never felt intimidated of any kind. Butch is professional in every aspect and always feel comfortable during the 2 hour drive session. I definitely recommend them % 100! Thank you for your hard work!

Butch is awesome owner of the Academy: very experienced, patient, funny, diversified! I took his class myself nearly 17 years ago, and it changed my life. I became very confident driver. Recently my son took his classes, and it helped us to reduce insurance payments nearly to a 40%. I would recommend the services of this Driving Academy to absolutely anyone!

This is best way to have your child learn to drive! Every person with whom we worked was friendly, polite, and patient. My daughter had Bill for her instructor and he was absolutely wonderful! His calmness, encouragement, and positive attitude left her feeling confident and happy after each lesson. All aspects of the training were worthwhile and helped my daughter understand why drivers need to do certain things to be safe. Her success in completing the course and passing her driver's test with a perfect score were well worth the cost and certainly paid off in reducing the amount we are paying for her insurance. We could not have had a better experience anywhere! Thank you to everyone at Anchorage Driver Training.

I had an outstanding experience at Anch Driver Training!! I recently was in Fairbanks & was forced to parallel park. I try to avoid it due to confidence, but there was no where else to park! I was in a place id never been & was really nervous! I just remembered everything my instructor had told me & it whent smooth like butter!! Thank you so much for all the training. They also offer a skids cource that will help in this beautiful winter driving! If you dont know how to drive at all, just need pointers, or need to teach your child how to drive, Anchorage Driver Training is the place to go!! Thank you so much :)

ADT did a great job training my kids in the art of driving. They kept the stress out of our house and provided us with confident drivers.

My son signed up for driver training mainly to get instruction on parallel parking (because I'm not very good at it) and make sure he had correct driving information to enable him to pass the driver exam. We paid the $40 extra (driving school is $610 so total was $650) to have the driving exam done at the school. The first day is 8 hours of classrom instruction, the instructor my son was assigned made a point of telling the kids in the class that he failed people all the time on the driving exam. I was annoyed by that, failure of a student reflects just as poorly on the instructor for failing to teach correctly. Additionally, it caused additional stress and nervousness at the actual test. For the 8 hours of driving instruction, less than 30 minutes was spent on parallel parking. At the end of the last lesson they tried to do the driver exam, but there was little time and the instructor rushed my son. The instructor said that exam wouldn't count and my son should call to re-schedule the driver exam. I called and scheduled the exam for a week and a half later. When my son got there at the appointed time of the appointed day, they didn't have any record but said they would go ahead. The first thing on the exam is parallel parking which is conducted in their parking lot, it's small and traffic is entering and exiting while the student is trying to park. The instructor said you get 3 minutes and 3 tries, right in the middle of trying to park someone pulled into the parking lot right where the parallel parking test area is. My son waited for the person and started trying to parallel park again when the instructor said "Time's up!" The instructor then said, "you may be better off at DMV, they aren't as strict". I would never use this driver training school again! IT is not worth the money, they do not teach as promised and seem more interested in failing a kid that helping him be successful.

This is the best driving school, myself, my 2 sisters, and my brother all went here. The best teacher is Brian. He is very nice and very good at explaining the rules and laws of driving. It's a lot better than your parents yelling at you and freeking out lol. I would defiantly recommend this driving school.
