I recently got my CDL through the training and knowledge I gained at 160 trucking. Rick was my instructor for the majority of my time there . He was a very knowledgeable and helpful teacher. He was tough though his biggest concern is safety and I respect that . I also had Andy who showed me different things that made it also easy to learn the skills. Andy was very patient. Frank is who I spoke to from the start. he gave me so many options to how I can get financial assistance to get my CDL . I listened to him to Rick and Andy and I was successful and got financial assistance to get my CDL. I am very proud to also say I was a one and done . If you ever go for your CDL I recommend you go through 160 trucking academy. They not only have the highest success rate but also a great team that helps you the whole way through your journey. Thanks everyone for supporting me through mine

As part of Distinctive Landscapes we have sent many employees to CDL-NOW. This was my first time trying and succeeding on getting my CDL, Class A with Air Brakes. Starting with Mindy who would always answer my questions and got me scheduled for Training and my DOT test very quickly. To Tommy, who explained how to drive very well, in a very relaxed and nice way and to Dan who gave me way more knowledge about the Pre Trip and driving a truck than I was prepared for but got me very prepared to handle the DOT side of the testing, these people are fantastic and want you to succeed. We will keep sending employees and thank you very much!!!

Chris and his team of Driving Instructors were very knowledgeable, patient and very flexible with our granddaughter’s busy Summer schedule. I know by enrolling her in Safe Driver Drivers Education that she received the best start to begin her driving experience.

Perfect course for a beginning driver. Covers so much and gives them good driving experience. I have used them for both of my kids.

Positively encourages students while driving.

I saw the introduction of this school on the Internet, and I wholeheartedly sent my children to this school to learn driving. I arrived here at 8:25 this morning. Google Maps showed that the school was open from 8:00 to 18:00, but the door was locked and not open. I could only call to find out. A lady answered the phone. I told her that I wanted to enroll my 18-year-old and 15-year-old children for driving lessons. My children have passed the written test at the DMV and obtained driver's licenses. She asked me if my children can drive? I answered, "The children don't know how to drive, but they know how to operate the car. They can learn by watching me drive. They can tell the functions of the car operating parts, but I don't dare to let the children drive directly, so I want to send the children to this school to learn how to drive." I expressed so sincerely, I didn't expect the lady to answer me like this. She said, "You have to teach your children how to operate a car and practice on the road for ten hours before sending them to school to learn." I saw the brake pedal and the gas pedal in the passenger seat of the teaching car at the school gate, so I asked her: "Don't the children come to school to learn how to drive, use your school's safe car to learn how to drive, and then I use my car to accompany them to practice for more than 30 hours? Is that right?" She answered me that it was not, and she wanted me to teach the children how to drive before sending them to school. This answer confused me. If I taught the children to drive, why did they come to school to learn? She said that the online course and driving practice only took six hours in total. I saw the 30-hour online course recommended by the Iowa DMV at AAAA, and you can sign up for it online. As for how the children learn to get a driver's license, I was conflicted after talking to this lady.

no doubt this is the best place for your kids to learn how to drive. safety is most important here.

We could not be more pleased with the experience our child had at Drive with Cops! Our child has some emotional and learning challenges and did struggle a couple times during class, but they worked with him, did not make him feel bad or less than, and ultimately helped him to be successful in the class. Communication is outstanding. Terry is so kind, helpful, and very patient with parents who are not from Iowa and do not understand the weird rules for getting your license here. :) You do have to book the class early because they fill up FAST (for good reason). We booked almost a year in advance, and it was worth every penny!!

Overall was a pretty good class for my son. They did provide a good base to start from which is what I wanted for him so I could build from there. Do wish they would have been more challenged in driving situations and did seem to play it safe in everything, including the final exam as I was told by him that it was just a drive around the block more less. But maybe each instructor does it different. Also no simulators were used as I read that they would be. Just classroom and driving. But like I said I was happy he got a good foundation for me to build on for him.

I got my CDL 18 years ago and this is the best trucking school ever .thank you DMACC .

Went here to get my cdl class b only and they did a great job teaching in classroom and in trucks. The instructor take their time to teach you. They give both positive feedback and suggestions for improving on. They also give you leads to employers who hire recently graduates. Would recommend for anyone looking to get their cdl

Hi, I’m interested in this driving school, but I am not fluent in English. Would that work with you?

So far I’m not impressed at all. The website is not user friendly, none of the online classes that I paid $400 show up. Can’t get a hold of anyone during day time hours. I’m not the only one with this complaint either. I know of two other people this exact same thing happened to. I would place your money elsewhere, do it through your school…MUCH less of a headache.

Was a great place to learn about how to drive and learn about the rules on the road

I went through right away driver education they did a great job teaching great driving instructors

My son took this course last fall, the class room time was ok teacher was knowledgeable and helpful. Then came drive times, During the drive the instructor was constantly stopping for food. To the point my son had to ask him multiple times to move the half gallon of milk so he could put the car in gear! Hi instructions included “turn up at the house with the mailbox”. And then got angry when my son didn’t choose the right mailbox. Then to top it off the test time was 9 pm! So it was very dark and it was snowing heavy (we hadn’t had any snow so the kids had not had experience in snow). He then docked the kids points for driving UNDER the speed limit IN a snow storm! Needless to say it was the most ludicrous thing I had ever experienced. My daughter had the same instructor a couple years prior and after my son voiced his frustration she also told similar horror stories. Maybe street smarts should drive more with their teachers

After finishing the classes. The tutor said I was finished. When my dad took me to the DOT. They told me I still had to watch 30 hours videos. Why can’t the certified teacher tell the student the correct information because I had to go back and watch the videos and then return. It caused my father, another day off work . They need to train the tutors better.

The materials they provide are disorganized and hard to read— three or four different fonts in every document, with cramped spacing and weird highlights all over the place. As far as the teaching portion— I feel like paying so much money for a mere online course plus just 6 hours of drive time is kind of a joke. Back in my day, it was cheaper, AND you got real instruction instead of just a list of dumb videos to watch at home. Plus, they tell you that the parent has to drive for 20 hours with the child, in addition to the program they offer. I am working, I have heart issues that are exacerbated by anxiety, and I paid for this program so I wouldn't have to put myself through that. I did not know up front that they would not provide ALL of the education necessary. When I was a teen, driver's ed covered everything. They don't let you schedule drive times that are convenient. They post their drive time options just a few days before it starts, and then expect you to respond within an hour before all the slots are taken. And then when we did get the schedule, the instructor kept changing it. Did you know that some parents have to work? Did you know that there's a lot going on in life? A constantly changing schedule, especially at the last minute, is kind of a nightmare. Driving instructor was rude, grumpy, and uncommunicative. (Hey SS, maybe pay your workers better? You might attract better talent?) He showed up late and left early every single day. I did not feel like my kid was safe with him, since he gave the attitude that he'd rather be anywhere but here. I'm going to contact the school district and recommend they find a different company to contract with. This business is poorly run.

i LOVED my drivers ed experience !! my instructor was mr. brown, he is super funny and made the class so easy to learn. i am glad to have had him as a teacher and am thankful for my drive times i had with him as well - filled with carpool karaoke and discussions of why he should like taylor swift, but overall it was a great experience and i would totally recommend everyone to take drivers ed through street smarts and hopefully have mr. brown as the teacher :)

Disappointed with Street Smarts. They need to be more understanding with issues. They only let you complete 3 online classes per day. We pay for the class, an insane amount btw, he should get to complete the classes when HE is able....it’s online so it shouldn’t be a big deal. But they will make to pay MORE money if you have any kind of issue that results in one of the classes getting submitted past midnight. Such a joke. Not to mention they are required to wear a mask, but the instructor didn’t?? He was always stopping for food and eating/drinking during the drive time. He can’t go 2 hours without eating???? I suggest looking into driving with cops. We have a couple more yet to go thru drivers ed....will NOT use Street Smarts again. Ugh.
