I had an amazing experience learning to drive with Silver lake Driving School. A huge shoutout to my instructor, Damiian, who was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout my lessons. He made me feel at ease from the very first session. He explained everything clearly and calmly, and his tips really boosted my confidence behind the wheel. I passed my driving test on the first try at Arden Hills today! I’d absolutely recommend this school—and especially instructor Damiian—to anyone learning to drive.
Two of my children went through Silver Lake Driving School and we had a wonderful experience both times. It was easy to schedule the classes and the behind the wheel. The online classes worked great since they were live and interactive. My kids passed their permit test on their first attempt. The driver picked the kids up at our home so the behind the wheel was convenient.
My experience so far at Salt Lake Driving School is still in progress, but it's been going super well! The instructor is super welcoming and registration is pretty easygoing. I have only done the classroom part so far, but seriously, Mr. Maki is incredible at what he does. You can feel how much passion he has for it - it shines through in his knowledge, his patience, and his skill.
I took my test with Darrin, he was amazing! He made me feel confident and made me laugh and enjoy taking the test and helped me pass. Absolutely recommend him. To add, I've tried practicing with other driving schools but no one helps like Silver Lake. They're the best. My whole family took the test with them and we all love this team. Matt is awesome and great at getting back to you, very helpful.

I learnt driving through Safari for a few weeks. Ali was an extremely good instructor and I passed my road test on the first try!! He also helped me learn to drive on the highway and in the busier areas of Minneapolis which made me a lot more comfortable driving in general!

I had such a great experience with Amano Driving School! The instructors are super patient and make you feel comfortable even if you’re nervous at first. They explain everything clearly and really take the time to make sure you understand, instead of rushing you. I also liked how flexible the scheduling was, which made it easier to fit lessons into my week. By the end, I felt way more confident and ready to drive on my own. I’d definitely recommend Amano Driving School to anyone learning to drive!

This is a great driving school, and the instructors are nice and good at teaching. The price is also affordable and reasonable. The instructor really helped me a lot and very patient to help me build confidence, and this really helps me pass the exam!

We have had a great experience with EDI. The education was very focused on teen drivers and I appreciate that they raise the bar above the state standards!
Update: My oldest especially took his EDI training to heart. He has a perfect driving record and now drives children to school. I credit his skills to what he learned at EDI. We just finished the classes for the third time--all three of my children went through this program. My oldest really took it to heart and is a very safe driver. My middle is driving all over the state this summer. My youngest passed the permit test yesterday. We originally asked for recommendations from friends and EDI was highly recommended. Now it's my turn--I highly recommend EDI. Yes, driver's education is expensive, but this is worth every penny. And the peace of mind is priceless.

I took my drivers education through EDI and it was the best experience of my life they made it so easy with the online course and it was also super fun to do in the process. Doing a online course through EDI made me feel better about getting my permit and driving for the first time, overall it made me gain confidence in what I could do on the road and for my future in driving. I think everyone should do drivers ed through EDI because its the overall best way to go, online or in person.
Two of my teens have going through EDI's classroom and behind the wheel trainings. Both were positive experiences. The instructor for behind the wheel was professional, encouraging, and provided specific feedback so they could be confident in taking their exam.

I had a great experience here. Tom will work with your schedule and is a good natured, patient, and thorough instructor. He will get you to where you need to be to pass your Class A drivers test without a doubt.
During my search for behind the wheel training Class “A” CDL, I was looking for a place that would cater to my already full schedule, and the CMV Tutor did just that. I was able to train on weekends. Tom is also an awesome instructor, that is able to tell you exactly what you need to work on to improve. It’s no surprise, that he has such a high success rate. He isn’t there to just get you to complete the training then send you on your way. He ensures that you are ready to take the exam, by giving you all the skills and confidence to pass. I’m am glad I went through the CMV Tutor for my Class “A” CDL.
Recently got my A. Tom was really patient with me and help me all the way through the whole process to get to the point where I was able to pass my road test. He also worked around my schedule which it was the best part. It was a great experience.
Tom was a great trainer, he provided me with an easy to study and learn packet all about the pre trip and gave excellent instructions, advice and pointers when driving a semi which helped me pass my road test. I highly recommend seeing Tom for your CDL training.
Very simple instruction with emphasis and energy put in to make sure you pass the road test on your 1st try. The CMV tutor has a system that works incredibly and I wouldn't recommend anyone else to learn from!

I never write reviews, but this one I really want to share. We are happy that our daughter had a chance to take her driving lessons at Heavy D Driving School. It is difficult these days to find such professionals who can explain and graft the right driving attitude and responsibility to a teen. I am self-taught... and now my daughter is pointing to deficiencies in my driving :) need to work on that. Those students who get a chance to take lessons with Mike A. - one of the school instructors will be really lucky. He does a great job, I am sure other instructors too. We had a great experience with Heavy D Driving. Highly recommend!
Our teenager recently finished his course through Heavy D Driving school and I cannot say enough good things about the program. The head instructor Eric Weaver is very knowledgeable and makes the course content engaging for the students. Personally, I appreciated the extra class given to the parents that included testimonials and tips for mentoring and modeling for your child. For the behind the wheel portions we were impressed with the professionalism of our child's instructor Mike Argall. He took the time to go through his notes with both the student and the parents. He gave very fair and honest training. I highly recommend Heavy D Driving School for anyone who has a teenager looking at getting their license.

We were completely satisfied with our experience with Heavy D Driving School. My son had lots of experience driving with his parents during his permit time, but he gained valuable additional knowledge from his driving course due to the knowledge and experience of his instructor Craig. Eric the owner was very responsive to emails or questions and made the process very easy. Would highly recommend.
My daughter took driving lessons from both Mike and Eric and learned so many tips and how to handle the road (she is even teaching me to flawlessly parallel park!). I had a lot of questions with what is needed for a full drivers license and they were very responsive and even returned my email with a phone call to answer all of my questions. My daughter felt very comfortable and I feel better with the level of 6 hrs of driving training. Highly recommend!

Alamo is great driving school, I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to drive, I have almost started from scratch with Alamo as I drove very few times before. My instructor was Mohamed Irshat, he was very experienced and patient and teaches you how to drive not only for the road test but for your entire life,and how to to be a defensive driver. I've finally got my licence and I can drive alone!! Thank you.

Mohamed was an amazing instructor! After failing my driving test 4 times I had no choice but to go do 6 hours of behind the wheel training. Alamo is a great driving school. They are have a very flexible schedule and will work with you according to your timetable. Abdiwali especially is an amazing teacher! I highly recommend it. P.S. they will also pick you up from your house, so if you don’t have a reliable transportation then that’s not something to worry about.

After taking the road test a couple times. I finally passed with the help of the instructors here, especially Karma. I would 100% recommend him if you plan on booking a behind the wheel. You can truly tell he is passionate about his job and wants his students to succeed. Good luck to anyone reading this and is worried about taking the road test. You got this, especially if you do it with Karma.
Mi nombre es Yesenia : muy profesional mi instructor, corregimos errores de manejo y es una persona que no te va gritar o presionar. Logre pasar mi examen de manejo lo recomiendo. Hablan en espanol y es muy dificil encontrar en otras escuelas en espanol y que se adapten a tu tiempo y necesidades. Sean claros y dispuesto a aprender ya que yo manejaba pero tenia malos habitos y ahora me siento mejor conduciendo.
Karma was my instructor at the school. He is very good at what he does in actual fact. He tells you what to do calmly and commends you at the same time when you put his teaching to practice. His voice still echoes in my ears when I drive "No! Don't touch yellow line, don't touch white line. Stay in the middle". Thereafter, "good, good job"! I remember all with smiles. I passed my test the very day he took me on the road. Karma is top-notch and the BEST y'all 👍🏾

Great school for Getting CDL. They do a great job preparing you to pass drivers exam!
I had a great experience at the Rochester 160 driving academy. Alex the branch manager was friendly and knowledgeable. The yard instructors Jim and John did a great job training us in the trucks and getting us ready to take the test at the DMV. They have a great program and will set you up for success, not just to pass the CDL test, but also provide real world knowledge of how to be a safe and successful driver. The school would benefit from some newer trucks and trailers.
The whole team at 160 was fantastic. The branch manager Alex made signing up and scheduling very easy. He was very knowledgeable about the current rules, regulations, and requirements. The field instructors Shawn, Jim, and John were top notch. They all have lots of real world experience, which shows in their teaching. If you want to learn how to drive truck the right way from a great group of gentlemen, and have fun doing it, then I would highly recommend 160 Driving Academy in Rochester. I started driving truck 2 weeks after obtaining my Class A with 160 and I feel extremely confident driving out in the real world no matter what situation I run into. Again, highly recommend this school.

Had a run in with an elder man driving one of the 'Driver training 101' vehicles. He ran a red light, was well over the speed limit, tried to cut me off and almost hit me. Is this how you teach your students to drive?

There is a lack of communication between the 3 people that work in this small, worn-out school. Ask the same question to all 3, and you would get 3 very different answers. This has a huge and negative impact on both the student and the parent. They'll try to take as much money as they can for a very small amount of service. Pay extra and go to a trustworthy school, don't waste your time with Northgate. I would give the school a negative number of stars, if the option was possible.
Very good teachers
Curriculum used is 20 years out of date while the desks and other furniture is 30 years out of date. After the four day refund period has ended the teachers do not care if the student learns or is on their phone the whole class. The only rule enforced is be to class on time or don’t bother showing up. The price of the class is now $400 instead of the previous $300 despite the lack of improvements made to better the class or the classroom.

So you are telling me that I paid almost $400, reserved a class for September 25 and they still haven't sent a link for the digital call. The class started at 6 and it is 6:22 and I am still waiting for the link
We are 2/2 with our children taking the instructional, BTW and passing their DL tests. Txt alerts and online portals are essential in looking for availability. BTW books up 3-4 weeks in advance so don't procrastinate. Drivers have been helpful and professional!
Elite was great. They accommodated our crazy schedule. We got the classes done over the summer and did behind the wheel over the rest of the year. Super easy and the kids had fun in class. Both are driving on their own. Yay!!
My daughter and I liked how she could go at her own pace and take the classes in any order. The owner let her retake the final review class more than once. That was great for this kid! Communication wasn't always easy, but I did get replies after an email and a phone call. She liked the teachers and the BTW instructors, so I guess that's what matters most.
We were overjoyed with the services we received. Our son is now a great driver.
