Our 16 year old son took lessons here and really enjoyed it. His instructor (Scott) was GREAT! Super friendly and encouraging, and gave us really useful feedback after each lesson. We'll definitely use these folks when our younger kid is ready!

Fabulous! Fabulous! Fabulous! From the scheduling to the instructor, everything went wonderfully! I cannot say enough about Scott. He is the perfect person to work with teens or nervous drivers. He helped my daughter Erin overcome all of her self doubts with driving and she passed her test yesterday!

My son, a nervous new driver, passed both driving tests (written and practical) on the first attempt. Stan, Scott, Trini and Joseph were so wonderful and easy to work with. Thank you all for making this a good experience for us!

My daughter had THE BEST experience with this group of instructors! Josef was easy to work with and coordinate dates. His response time was incredible and he's running a good business!! My daughter's instructor, Scott, was incredible as well!! He is calm and patient and made sure to teach her some "real life scenarios". After just 2 sessions, she was already so much more confident! She finished 10hrs (the PERFECT package for ALL the practice) and PASSED her drivers test a week later! We could not have done it without these guys! I heard about this driving school from a family friend who recommended it. Without any prior driving experience whatsoever, Scott Agron was the perfect instructor to guide me. He was patient, kind, and extremely down to Earth. Scott taught me everything I needed to know and more, and gave me the confidence I needed to pass the driving test with ease. This driving school has taught me a lot about driving and sharing the road. By being a part of this class I got to meet other people and learn about their driving experiences. I would recommend to other people.

I highly recommend Pacific Drivers Education Beaverton. Every member of their team shared a culture of cheerful professionalism which put me at ease on every occasion. Communication was excellent - my instructor Steve listened carefully and patiently to any concerns before sharing very thorough advice and valuable guidance. He was clearly very experienced, knowledgeable, and skilled at instilling both confidence and caution as necessary. My examiner Skip had an aura of patient optimism. His instructions were clear and precise - I very much appreciated his calm and professional demeanor.

Amazing Experience! I went here to get my driving test done… And let me tell you amazing experience from start to finish! I successfully passed my test and it just not because I practiced for over two years for this test, but because my instructor, Hope, was really nice and calm and that helped me stay calm and focused. My brother will be coming here for his test when he is ready… thank you so much!

Genuinely, everyone here is so incredibly kind. I took my drivers test and failed the first time. The person helping me made sure to explain why I failed and helped me calm my nerves for the next time. I passed just two days later! The man and woman who helped me were so kind, super welcoming, and helped calm my nerves. If you are someone with horrible anxiety (like me) I would highly recommend! All the staff are super understanding and friendly, I could not recommend this place more. Everyone here is fantastic! (Ps, my examiners were Hope and Skip:) y’all were super nice! Matthew was wonderful and helped me (an adult taking the driving test for the first time) feel beyond comfortable behind the wheel. He was very even in tone throughout the test and really set me up for success. Overall my entire experience at Pacific Driver Education was super positive and I'd recommend them for both teens and adults who need to take a driving test but aren't able to make the DMV schedule work for them. I also really appreciated that their testing vehicles are all Kia Souls which felt like a really reasonable size vehicle to maneuver even after only practicing in smaller cars.

I took my driving test here, I was super super nervous, but my tester, Skips, did a great job of making me feel comfortable. I passed first time! I felt super comfortable, it didn’t even feel like a test, it just felt like I was driving and someone was giving me directions. I was nervous about using a different car, but he told me how to use everything and gave super clear directions. It felt nicer than driving my own car! Would definitely recommend taking your test here! (especially if the DMV has no available appointments like it did whenI was trying to schedule my test.)

Was very easy to get an appointment at a time that was convenient for me. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Test examiner was knowledgeable and patient with my son. They provided great feedback after the test on what went well and areas that he can improve on. Would highly recommend this company in the future.

The instructor I got was super chill and welcoming. The test demonstrated the perfect skills you need to drive legally & prepared on the road. Also super convenient to schedule whatever day you want. No complaints.

Easy to book a drive test, and it was easy to reschedule (well in advance) through their text messaging system. Checking in was quick, and my driving observer Andrew was courteous and clear during the driving evaluation. The car they provided for the test was clean and well kept. I would definitely recommend this company!

My driving test was today and even though I've been driving for years I was super nervous. I hate driving cars I'm unfamiliar with and having to do it for testing was nerve wracking for me. But my examiner, Tabby, helped me relax and even laugh a little. She was awesome. I passed with a 100% on the first try.

The staff was professional and friendly. My instructor Gabby was informative and gave easy to follow instructions. The car was smooth and felt very safe. I 100 percent recommend!

I learnt to drive with Horizon in summer of 2024. The experience was fantastic. I have to recommend my instructor Dadir is fantastic. I'm a nervous driver and he really made my experience as relaxing as possible. Im happy to report I also passed my test on the first try!

Would NOT recommend at all. This was the most unprofessional "company" that I have ever worked with. On the very first day the instructor was 15 minutes late with no apology and no acknowledgement that he was this late. I had talked to another customer while I was waiting and he said that he had been waiting there for 30 minutes so I guess it could have been worse which is insane. The lesson that proceeded was just what you would expect from a guy that showed up 15 minutes late, extremely sub-par. He spent the first 5 minutes (after being 15 minutes late) texting some girl on his phone and rummaging around in the trunk for something. He said very little during the lesson and basically just said that I was doing everything perfectly (which I definitely was not) After the first lesson, I got a new instructor who was the owner (Mohammed.) To his credit, he was an actual instructor and he did seem like he actually knew what he was doing. Unfortunately, the entirety of the 2nd lesson was essentially spent unteaching me everything that the first instructor said I should be doing. They weren't even in sync on something as basic as where I should have my hands on the wheel. The first instructor said 10-2 and then Mohammed said it needed to be 9-3 due to new air bag placements. Regardless of which one was correct, its absurd that 2 instructors of the same driving school wouldn't even be on the same page on something as fundamental as this. In the week leading up to the test, I still had around 4/10 hours remaining so I booked 2 lessons that week. The first lesson was okay except for the part where the driving instructor (a new one) made a joke about wishing that he could hit bicyclists "like they did in Chicago" which I found to be somewhat distasteful considering he was supposed to be teaching safe driving techniques. The final lesson is where things really started to go downhill though. It was the same instructor as the first lesson and surprisingly he was on time this time! He still managed to spend the first few minutes on his phone but that was fine because its not like he did any real instruction regardless. He had me drive out to the Clackamas ODEC to "do practice" which essentially amounted to parallel parking once on a random street near ODEC and then driving around for 5 minutes. Then we spent approximately 7 minutes just sitting in the ODEC parking lot while this dude looked up the location of the physical building. I didn't know that was what he was doing at the time and I would have objected if I did because it was completely absurd that we drove all out of the way to just "see what the building looked like." Even the instructor seemed very confused about what we were doing there and just said "this is where Mohammed said to go." During the lesson he was on his phone for about 45 minutes of it and then, after we get back from ODEC, we stop at the gas station to fill up on gas. We were there for about 20 minutes and I couldn't believe that he hadn't filled up the tank earlier. I was paying about $100 per hour here and to spend 20 minutes of that time sitting at the gas station was completely insane. In an earlier lesson we had spent about 10 minutes at a gas station which I thought was weird at the time but I didn't say anything because I assumed it was just a one time thing. The worst part is that neither instructor even offered to add extra time onto the lesson that was spent at the gas station. When I texted Mohammed about this he said "its absurd to say we can't fill gas during sessions." When I requested a refund for the last lesson and the time I didn't end up using, Mohammed was extremely combative and unprofessional. If there was an option to leave zero stars here I would, clearly there needs to be more regulation on drivers ed companies here in Portland. EDIT: in the reply below, the owner claims that i “wanted to be dropped off at the gym” which is clearly not true as i biked to the lessons everyday and it would make no sense for me be dropped off somewhere without my bike.

These lessons were amazing helpful. I had some driving experience, but not enough to feel nearly confident enough to take the test. I ended up having Kadir and Shane as my instructors, mostly Kadir. Their input was fantastically helpful and they were very open to focusing on areas I felt weakest with on top of the areas that they noticed as needing improvement. I passed the driving test, and the 1 hour of practice they offer prior to the testing was a great way to work out the nervousness that had built up. My wife has also noticed a dramatic improvement in my capabilities. I am super appreciative of their help with finally completing this goal.

I would recommend Horizon Driver Education to anyone like me who had driving anxiety. Racheal was the best teacher and helped me so much! She always made me feel calm and had so much patience. Very sweet and nice. This place really cares about you and your success of driving on the road! I did my driver test today through ODEC and passed on the first try ☺️ THANK YOU HORIZON!

I had a wonderful experience learning to drive at Horizon Driver Education. They were very flexible and worked with my schedule to deliver the best learning for me. I had never driven on the road before I started learning here but the instructors were very patient and thorough that by the end of the training I was very comfortable behind the wheel. I also passed my drivers test on the first try thanks to the amazing tips and the extensive practice test from my instructor before my appointment. I will definitely recommend Horizon Driver Education to everyone

From the moment i entered the building, i was helped with urgency and great care. my instructor was very straightforward and very kind. (His name was Adam) Definitely a great guy. Even tho I failed my test this time, he was very respectful, understanding and reassuring. I look forward to trying again.

Personally, I paid and failed my test twice. Several of the reason I failed the first time I did not agree with. The second time the tester intervened and cause an automatic fail. I also do not think I agree with that. I will not be paying them anymore money to test again and will try elsewhere. I really dont recommend trying to do a driver's test in downtown salem

Very professional service! Make you feel at ease for such a nerve wracking experience as passing your drivers test! I was scared for no reason! Kris was great at giving directions and then the feedback! I would recommend to use ODEC for your driving test!

Olga was extremely nice and professional. I was so nervous but she gave me ample time to adjust to the car and testing experience before starting the test. Her directions were clear and even after I passed she gave me helpful feedback. Couldn't recommend her enough!

Was able to schedule my test a week and a half out, got there early cause I was excited. Time efficient and was very professional with everything. One thing I did have a concern with is my instructor had me cross over a double yellow which is never permitted unless for a emergency situations. But overall I’d highly recommend this company if dmv isn’t an option

I had a great experience with 1st Learn To Drive! I started with almost no prior experience and poor self-confidence. My instructor, Scott, excellently explained the theory and was calm and understanding during all the drives I had with him. I passed my test after 3 2-hour lessons with Scott that occurred within 1.5 months. Lessons are 100% worth it! I've certainly became a more confident driver and am not anxious anymore about driving. I highly recommend Scott and 1st Learn To Drive!💓

Course was good, instructors were great. Unfortunately, instructors apparently don't give out accurate information about the final drive and the people at the office were fairly rude. My son wasn't as prepared as we would have liked for the first attempt, which was fine, but they only give you 30 days to schedule the second drive. The instructor made it seem like their was more flexibility, I asked on the last class knowing he wasn't ready. But, we only had 4-5 weeks before he had to take the first attempt, so we did that and he didn't pass. When I called to find out about scheduling the second attempt after receiving an email that we only had 30 days to reschedule, I felt the guy I talked to was fairly disrespectful. I know my son needs more drive time, but I don't want to pressure him into attempting the test again until he's ready. Of course at $60 per re-attempt, they seem to just want to make money rather than make sure teens are actually ready, go figure. And, apparently they don't do what it takes to assure the instructors are providing accurate information to parents. I understand instructors are human, but timelines for taking the test isn't a difficult thing to understand and communicate. Of course they don't tell you to call the office for accurate information, nor is clear on the website that you shouldn't rely on the instructors for accurate information about scheduling. Their 30 day policy seems like a great way for the company to make extra money, but not actually assure a teen is ready. We won't be using them again with our youngest.

Jeremy is very transparent about his goals for us, and keeps the focus of the time he spends teaching on making sure that we understand the lesson. His stories, I find, serve to make the point of the lesson memorable. I feel like a much more confident and competent driver than when I started out, solely thanks to this course. So long as you are somewhat accustomed to navigating oddly laid out web interfaces, the websites and such are clear enough. Once you get the hang of it, nothing is terribly hard to access. All lessons have also been very on time, except for some unavoidable technical difficulty. I would definitely recommend this course to a friend.

We took the icy conditions driving class (Car Control Course), and it was superb. The instructors were very good in all aspects if the class, from the classroom instructions to the in-vehicle application. Strongly recommend for everyone!

The school was professional and well structured. Everyone that works there were knowledgeable and great to talk with. I highly recommend doing this if you have a car you want to push in a controlled environment.

After not driving for 20 years and having to go back to school I was amazed at how much I learned. There’s been a lot of new laws enacted and a lot of new protections for the driver that I was unaware of. The staff were great and I got my license on the first attempt and it was definitely worth the money. This is by far a way better school than I went to 30 years ago. My best suggestion is if you go latch on to another student and practice with each other as much as you can on your pre-trip. Thanks again for all your help.

The school and staff were awesome...The instructor Jeff became like family.. Gave me so much friendship and all the tools to kick ass.. Danny was awesome as well. Information to really succeed.. Going into my 4-week lesson plan, I did not think that I would pass my drive test and get my license within a calendar month. Scott helped me make that possible. Scott is super chill, funny, and personable, but at the same time and most importantly he keeps it real with you. I went from starting the process of putting the nerves behind me and ripping off the band aid of pursuing my license to feeling cool, calm, and collected on the day of my drive test. Can’t thank Scott enough. He is the man!

I signed up for the accelerated course, I learned a lot! My teacher Andrew was awesome and was passionate about teaching the material and helping students pass the course. On my practice drives, I liked and worked well with all of my instructors: Christian, Steve, and Chad. I would recommend this course to all new drivers, especially those who want to get drivers Ed done in a shorter amount of time.

Steven was an excellent teacher of whom I will never forget. Whenever I come across a four way light, his words echo in my mind, "Left, front, right." If I ever find myself down, I always find myself thinking about how in our 4th class he said "over there" almost 500 times.

Driving is stressful for me but this company's wonderful instructors really helped with that, especially Randy. He was hilarious and kind. He made sure I was comfortable and made sure to correct me without being harsh when I made a mistake. :)

Purchased the 3 x2hr personalized on-road driving lesson package (3 sessions in total; 2hr per session). I scheduled each session flexibly. Scott, my instructor was very good. He helped me get extensive on-road practice, caught my errors and also gave me great tips/ advice. He did a few mock drive tests for me on my 3rd session; really helped boost confidence and rectify minor errors. I took my scheduled road test a week later and cleared it in the first attempt. Highly recommend!
