Tesfu DC driving school is the best! I was really nervous at first, but they made me feel calm and capable from day one. They explain everything clearly and always encourage you to improve. Highly recommended.
Very good experience with Tesfu Driving Sessions ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The instructor was calm and nice! Vehicle was clean and well-maintained, and comfortable. I passed my driving test on the first try! Mr. Gilbert has taught my daughter to drive defensively and within a short period, my daughter took the driver's test and passed on her first try. I was impressed with his methodology each time my daughter returned home to tell me about her progress. In total, my daughter took 4 classes in a two-week period and within that short period she was able to skillfully drive me around town. Attending Gmel academy was the best choice for our family. I realized after some time that I did not have the expertise to teach my daughter to drive. I have over 30 years of experience driving all over the country but could not articulate to my daughter in a helpful manner. Needless to say, Mr. Gilbert is a godsend and we are very very grateful to meet him. I plan to send my other daughter to learn from Mr. Gilbert in the future!!! I highly recommend him. It's also worth mentioning that Mr. Gilbert was punctual each time he picked up my daughter for her lesson.
I want to share my experience, after having taken 5 classes with another school, and the instructor who had no patience at all, I arrived at Mr. Gilbert, with him I took 4 classes of 2 hours and they were enough for me to feel calm during my road test exam. , it helped me a lot to feel calm, and to be ready for my exam, your patience and your persistence in helping your students learn is amazing, you are a great instructor, and today I can say thank you Mr. Gilbert, today I have my license thanks to you!!
Gilbert is a very experienced instructor who showed that he was in-tune with my strengths and weaknesses, and worked to address these during my lessons. His lessons were comprehensive and went beyond what the test entailed, especially in teaching maneuvers and the different types of parking, to increase my confidence on the road. There are definitely benefits to engaging a professional instructor like Gilbert, especially in helping you build the muscle memory for driving. I really appreciated it when he demonstrated a great deal of understanding and sympathy when I failed, and he managed to use the next two lessons to address the part of the test which had tripped me over. During my test, I cleared the parallel parking component on the first try with ease. He was also extremely accommodating in terms of scheduling. Thank you Gilbert! :)
Gilbert is a great driving instructor. I had no idea how to drive at first, and he was able to teach me from the ground up. He was very patient, and gave great instructions. I passed my road test on the first try due to his help. 10/10 highly recommend to anybody that needs to learn how to drive and is looking to take a road test!
I had an amazing experience with this driving school. The instructor Gilbert is great! Made each driving lesson comfortable and easy to learn. I did two hours each time I drove with them to get more experience. I passed my road test today on the first try! I felt very confident and prepared thanks to him. I HIGHLY recommend !!

The overall experience here was amazing! My instructors were Mr. Ish & Mr. Teddy, and they are absolutely the best at what they do. Even though I had no prior driving experience, they boosted my confidence, & were patient and encouraging all the way! I highly recommend to go to this guys and you’ll definitely learn to drive with confidence.
Mr Teddy Was So AMAZING!! So kind, very patient and he taught me the right way. I appreciate him so much and I will be referring friends. Thank you so much Mr Teddy for all your help! I appreciate you so much!
Teddy was a very knowledgeable, calm and excellent teacher. He showed me all the rules that I would need to drive well in the US. He helped me regain confidence behind the wheels after I haven’t driven in a while. He made parallel parking easy and I’m glad for the ease steps he taught me. I feel confident enough to go ahead and take the DC road skills test for my license.
I had such a great experience with DC STAR Driving School! When I started, I didn’t even know how to turn on a car, and in just 10 hours of lessons (five 2-hour sessions) with Mr. Ish, I built up the confidence and skills I needed. He was patient and made sure I understood every step. Thanks to his guidance, I passed my road test on the very first attempt this past Saturday! I also took a 1-hour pre-road test lesson with Mr. Teddy, which was extremely helpful. He gave me the last minute tips and confidence boost I needed to feel fully prepared for the test. From complete beginner to licensed driver. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I truly recommend DC STAR Driving School, Mr. Ish, and Mr. Teddy to anyone who wants professional, supportive, and effective driving instruction.
If I look behind from the very beginning of the journey, I can't describe everything in just a word. I feel blessed that I found that school for my driving classes. From the very beginning Mr. teddy helped me so much. He is so humble and gentle. I really appreciate his patience. I can't thank him enough. I took 6hours lessons and an hour before road test with car usage. I got my license on my first try. If I want to talk about parallel parking, Mr. teddy's tricks and tips helped me practice in a way that built both skill and confidence. Though, I was bit nervous but I did it. I am really grateful for his guidance. He not only focuses on road test skills but also make sure that we learn all the fundamentals as well as safety. Furthermore, I would like to highly recommend this school specially for the beginners. It's the best driving school in DC and so reasonable.

What a wonderful experience I had with CAS. Mr.Smith is very knowledgeable, encouraging and wise. I learned not only driving lessons but also life lessons with Mr.Smith in a short time of encounter. They provide pick up at your address as well, I wish I knew this company earlier. CAS driving school is definitely my No.1 recommended driving company.
I would not recommend this company. I had a lesson with the owner, Charles Smith, which was a horrible experience. First, he was late, and instead of teaching, he acted more like a backseat driver, not making me feel comfortable behind the wheel. His critiques contradicted what I had learned from previous lessons with this company. As I tried to adjust to his teaching method, if you want to call it that, and keep focus on the road, he made it extremely difficult. At one point during the lesson, he grabbed the wheel because he assumed I wouldn’t make a turn when I was about to. He then abruptly stopped my lesson and said we were done. Charles told me that he didn’t care that I had paid for a lesson and he would not continue. Charles is arrogant and completely unprofessional, claiming he has 20+ years of experience but acting like an immature child. This was a complete waste of time and money.
Took driving lessons and road skills test with CAS, it’s easy to book time via the app. Don’t hesitate to call them if you need to move an appointment or would like to find a possible late booking and they sometimes can accommodate. I’d like to particularly call out and thank MM. Morrison and Smith for helping me with the lessons, and Ms. Arica for finding me bookings in a busy calendar!
BOOK CLASS WITH ANTHONY the same day BEFORE YOUR TEST! I promise you will NOT regret it he teaches everything you need to know. I took a class before his and it was a waste of $ but when your with Anthony you will pass without question!!
I booked a session online and have been trying to coordinate with a representative to discuss more details. Called them several times to get no response. I drove with my husband to the physical location too only to not find it anywhere in the block of their listed address. Very mysterious and very frustrating.

Just passed my road test 'first time' with the help of probably one of the 'best' driving instructors you can have,,Idris was calm, patient and a pleasure to learn from. Enjoyed every lesson.,,Brilliant!! Highly recommended!! Thanks Idris @ Dexterity!!
Instructor (Jules) took two other clients during my allotted time, causing me to be more than 45 minutes late to my driving test. I've also never received ruder service.
