Amazing Driving School Dep. Carter was my daughters instructor. He was amazing. After the first drive she knew how to parallel park and she made it look effortless. He put her at ease but he worked her very hard to be the best driver she can be. She passed her drivers test the first time. My entire experience with this company has been outstanding, from the office staff, Mr. Carter, and the road test examiner. I will recommend 911 Driving School to anyone looking for a class for their child.
My family's experiences with 911 Driving School have been top-notch. All of the instructors we encountered were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. Deputy Carter is especially instrumental to the success of the students. Together, we were able to make the informed decision that my son should not drive (he had an undiagnosed medical condition at the time). When we returned a few years later with my daughter, Deputy Carter was kind (but firm!) and encouraging to her - calming her anxiety and giving her the confidence to pass her driving test! Knowing that my teen driver received current and personalized instruction taught by law enforcement reassures me that she is thoroughly prepared to drive on today's roads. I highly recommend 911 Driving School!
My son recently completed his training with Deputy Carter. I taught our oldest two children to drive without issue, but my son and I were not able to get on the same page with driver training. We signed him up for the school and it helped tremendously. I do not like using services that I believe I can do myself so I did not expect much to come from the program, but I am happy to report that this training taught my son the proper way to do things. Deputy Carter did a great job in communicating to my son what he needed to do and was straight with us about what was worked on and what was coming naturally versus what was not. He also clearly communicated where he thought our son was at with experience. Deputy Carter emphasized safe vehicle operation while reinforcing DMV testing skills. It was a positive experience for all of us and wee will be using 911's services again when our youngest child begins to drive in about a year. Hopefully, Deputy Carter will still be available to conduct her training as well.
I just recently finished my time with 911 Driving School in Goose Creek. Now although I did put in the work to pass the road test and get my diver’s license. I have to give credit to Deputy Charles Carter because if it wasn’t for him I don’t believe I would have had the confidence in myself to pass the road test. I didn’t have any interactions with anyone other than Deputy Carter, but if everyone associated with this company has half of his work ethic, then you are sure to get your money’s worth. Now I must warn you that Deputy Carter is very strict, and thorough, and will not hold back his criticisms of your skills, but he will ensure that you get better the more time you spend under his instruction. He was also very accommodating to my hectic schedule. he is truly one of a kind and if there is a chance that you can learn from him you definitely should.
We are very happy with this driving school. Deputy Carter and Henry Schiein were very knowledgeable, patient, and helpful with teaching our 15 year old how to drive safely. She learned so much from the class and 3 driving sessions. She also took the road test with 911 and passed on the first try. Being able to schedule the driving test to fit our busy schedules was priceless! The rest of our children will be learning to drive with 911 driving school when their time comes!!

Drive-EZ is the best choice if you are looking for a driving school! The company is well organized, easy to schedule lessons and prompt responses to emails. Brian is a fantastic instructor and put my daughter at ease with every driving session. The company is very easy to work with and I highly recommend for your teen!

I just wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for all the guidance and support that Brian provided throughout my son's driving lessons. He was always professional, punctual, encouraging, and patient, which helped us all stay focused and positive. It's a stressful time for many parents when their children are driving in the Charleston traffic, and Brian exceeded our expectations and the overall experience was seamless.
Our experience working with Brian at DriveEZ has been phenomenal. We opted for the 8 hour package that included the drivers test. My teen did the in person class and loved how engaging Brian was and how he presented the information. Scheduling our lessons was even easier. Within 24 hours of taking the in person training, Brian sent a link to schedule all of our 3 driving sessions. There were lots of different dates and times to choose from. Our teen was able to experience driving during rush hour, school traffic and evening traffic. Once our lessons were completed, Brian reached out to schedule my teen’s driving test. I highly recommend this option as testing through the DMV can be a very long process. If you’re looking for a driving school that is organized, communicative and makes learning fun, Brian and DriveEZ are the way to go!
The highly recommended Drive Ez was a great choice for our daughters driving school. We are so grateful for Brian’s patience and expertise. He always made our daughter feel comfortable and at ease behind the wheel. The lessons were very informative and well structured. Scheduling driving time was so easy. After the in person class we received a link with plenty of options to choose from. Once she was done with the driving lessons, we paid for the option of the driving test and Brian set it up. We will definitely be back in a few years with our son.

I already had my license and hadn’t driven for a while but with Ms. Nikki, now I’m so much more confident and comfortable behind the wheel! Don’t be afraid to ask her any questions, she’s great at explaining anything you may be hesitant or confused about. I’m originally from the UK moved here 6 months ago. This school is by far the best your gonna get Ryan, Triffiny and Rochelle will give you all the support your going to need to pass your CDL license even if it means you spend more than your allocated time at the school, they treat everyone with respect love kindness decency and patience. This is not the average driving school that just wants your money.No No No they actually care about their students and want them to pass for a better life. I cannot stress enough how much this school and its people care. I passed my CDL today and would only recommend knights drivers academy. Thank you Ryan, Triffiny Rochelle for giving me the time I needed and made my dream come true.
I moved from Georgia to South Carolina and had to redo driver’s ed. I took 8 hours in the classroom and 6 hours behind the wheel with Knights Drivers Academy. They made everything easy, and if you’ve had your learner’s permit for 180 days, I definitely recommend coming here!

If You’re New to Driving, Go Somewhere That Actually Wants to Teach You. I signed up at Learn to Drive as a complete beginner, but they expected me to already know how to drive. They gave almost no feedback and, after just two of my three lessons, told me to quit instead of helping me improve. One instructor gave unclear directions while driving in downtown Charleston at 5 p.m., called me “anxious,” and even cut my 2-hour lesson short by 30 minutes. When I complained, the school brushed it off. Yes, they refunded my unused class, but that doesn’t erase how unsupported, disrespected, and discouraged I felt throughout the entire experience. Beginners deserve instructors who teach patiently from the ground up. This school isn’t it. Additional response: If my driving was deemed unsafe or that I lacked sufficient experience for road practice, I fail to understand why your instructor chose to take me onto busy streets instead of beginning my training in a controlled environment like an empty parking lot. This responsibility lies with your instructor and the school’s training approach.
We had good conversations, and she simply explained what she wanted me to do, and talked me through the whole thing. She was super nice!

Great driving school. Had my teen daughter do her driving class and test. The great thing about driving practice sessions is that they come to your house, pick up your teen, do the session and bring them back home. Instructors are all great and professional, Abraham did a great job!!

Overall Roadmaster is a great school with great staff. I came in and everything was new to me but now I feel very confident. Sam in PTI is the greatest! My first day over there was very overwhelming but let me say he is the best at teaching PTI! Ms. Kelly is the best, I wasn’t confident with some maneuvers but she cleaned me up and got me real trim! And Mr. Brooks is the best when it comes to driving can’t get his voice out of my head lol! I would recommend this school any day to anybody!

Had three instructors, all of whom were incredibly helpful and patient. Everytime I was in the car, I felt safe enough despite having to drive on the roads filled with other people. This is a daunting task for a lot of people, and they not only made it easy, but interesting too. They do not panic or yell at you--they understand that you are new and learning. I wholeheartedly recommend going to Advantage Driving if you want a place that truly cares about your experience driving and you're not just a number to them--you're a person who wants to stay safe and takes their driving seriously.

After trying two other local driving schools with our first two daughters, we transferred our third daughter to Behind the Wheel. Mark did a great job and, most importantly, our daughter truly liked him. He understands student drivers, taught her skills our other daughters never learned, and let her drive in a wide variety of situations and circumstances so her confidence grew. Highly recommend Behind the Wheel for being an excellent resource for parents and student drivers! 10/10!!
Marc is an amazing instructor! He focuses on what you need to improve on and does a very good job of building your confidence so that you can start driving on your own. He is very accommodating and reasonable. I highly recommend this driving school!

After getting a DMV tester who was lazy & hated his job fail my son within 30 seconds just so he could go back inside, we went to Behind the Wheel and they delivered! We quickly got tested and my son easily passed. We are so pleased with their services, that I bought drivers lession as a gift for a neighbor who just turned 15. Their prices are lower than 911 (who my older son did classes with), so I feel good that I got a great deal. BTW was also much more accommodating than 911 was for us. Thank you for being professional, unlike the jerk at DMV who even trash talked his own boss & coworkers. If your reading reviews to consider which drivers school is right for your child, you found it! I even got a discount on my car insurance for sending my son to a drivers ed school.

I started at 911 with the eight hour class, but it really was too far away to take the lessons there. So I came to James Island kinda bummed to start over with a new group... turns out I loved James Island Driving and wished I had started there from the beginning! It's a nice family-owned business, and they treat you like family, too. Penny was my instructor and I LOVE her. If you can get Penny as your instructor, you've struck gold. She explains everything so well and makes you feel so comfortable. She gave me so much confidence in myself, and I know I wouldn't be as good as a driver without all her teaching and support. Getting your license as a new driver is so stressful because nobody wants to fail... you need an awesome driving school in order to have a decent chance of passing the first time. This school wants you to do well. They care about you. They have fun with you. And they give you the confidence to know you can do it! Penny, you are the best!
James Island Driving School is great! I am German and was living in the US partly to get my license easier. Penny is nice and clear on the instructions and communicates, what is important to know. She is patient, yet puts enough pressure for improvement. I was really happy with the lessons and the driving test. They are also super helpful if you got any questions and answer the emails ASAP. We chose Mike's Driving Academy for our granddaughter. We are so happy with Mike's professionalism. We were looking for someone who would ensure new skills with supervised training that is needed before young people take their behind the wheel test. We are confident she will achieve this in this driving school.
I went to Mikes Driving Academy to get my licenses. The instructor is a really good teacher who will tell you the entire layout of the course of the driving test and all the maneuvers that you will be doing. He will adequately prepare you for the test so as long as you have lessons with him you should definitely be good and should have nothing to worry about.
I literally just followed this car down 526 while it went 10 miles under the speed limit Ward left and right off of the interstate and into oncoming traffic consistently all the way down 526. I cut off at least three vehicles that I saw in the driver who was in the car by themselves no guest no passengers so I’m guessing it’s Mike himself held a phone up that I could see through the back window of his car and was turning his head to talk to it as he was swerving all over the interstate, I would not trust myself to train with this person. If my life depended on it, I would not trust my children to train with this person if my life depended on it clearly does not have a professional bone in his body when it comes to operating a vehicle and I can’t say for the life of me while he’s in this industry, but he’s clearly putting lives of himself and others at risk and that is not what I want talk to myself my spouse, my children or my other loved ones. This person should be ashamed of themselves the fact that this is their profession and they go out and disgrace themselves in this way.
Mike's Driving Academy was great! Mr. Mike is an incredible driving instructor that is very knowledgable about the rules of the road. Each one of my 2 hr driving lessons were extremely helpful and allowed me to pass the road test on the first attempt!

I was calling to get my nephew enrolled when she answered the telephone didn't even say the name of the company just a rude Hello. It sounded like she was driving bothered and frustrated. Very rude and unprofessional and I can only imagine how the driving training will be I decline. Definite wouldn't recommend
If you're looking for driving classes don't waste your time with this place. The lady I talked to was rude and extremely unprofessional. She has absolutely no customer service skills, even the way she answers the phone is rude. I called to ask a question and she hung up in my face, I thought I had dialed the wrong number, so I called back, what kind of business answers the phone with what do you want, it's almost comical at the level of unprofessionalism that she displays. Don't waste your time or money on this place, truly awful experience.

Mrs. Sumter is especially pleasant to work with. she is very friendly and jovial and makes you feel very relaxed and comfortable. she has a lot of experience with international students so she knows how to work with you to ensure that when you go take the test, you pass. I just took my test and i passed!! I am recommending them to all my friends!!
A friend of mine recommended me to go to Emily’s driving school and I am so glad I did just that. Mrs. Sumter was beyond helpful and worked around your personal schedule, on top of being an amazing driving teacher. Her husband was very helpful as well. She taught me everything I needed to know and then some. Her class price was very affordable too. I finally got my drivers license!!!
I’m going to share a most recent and accurate review . I took my test today and passed and my instructor was extremely sweet and comfortable . Reasonable pricing , good communication , and extremely respectful . The way she teaches is very clear and not difficult at all ! All these negative reviews are only because the customer disrespected the owner first . Respect goes both ways , as long as you’re respectful to her then you’re fine . She’s amazing !

The customer service is terrible and they have no consideration of individual's schedules. The receptionist continuously hollered in my ear because I needed to reschedule my son's last driving class. He received two unexcused absences from school and had to miss a 3rd day of school due to the fact that I prepaid for the course and they are not accommodating at all. I understand that my child has a busy schedule being a student athlete as well as working a part time job. I did not expect to be told that my son would have to miss school because the driver will not pick him up from school due to her living in Camden. I had to give the one star in order to complete the review. I would not recommend this agency for a driving school for your child.
As most of my knowledge is second hand, (from my kids) I can only tell you what I’ve heard and it’s all excellent. Both my son and daughter were nervous and a little intimidated getting started with the program. My son trained with Susan 4 years before my daughter and I didn’t hesitate on who I was calling when it was her turn. My daughter actually asked to have Susan as her trainer since my son had so many wonderful things to say about his comfort level with her while driving. Both of my children drove confidently from the time they started which has given mom a lot of comfort.
Don't drive over to this school expecting to go in and speak with someone about the driving program after driving up a steep driveway and getting out, only to be met with a sign stating that the office is closed Monday-Friday. I went over to the school after calling over the phone, only to keep getting the voicemail. So I called the number I had been calling before driving over, and lo and behold, someone answered. She informed me that they are so busy that they don't have anyone in the office. This review is just information for others, so they don't waste time or gas driving to the office. Hopefully, when you call, someone will answer prior to you driving out to the school. Due to me wasting my time, I decided to choose another driving school that is open during business hours. Also, before that, I didn't see anywhere on the website where you can register and pay. Grateful that I found another school that was open and explained the driving program.
Would give 1 star. They make you pay extra money on top of the driving lessons to do a 8 hour class that is a waste of time. You watch videos that give no real value and take a test on it at the end. My driver was Mitch. He was late to EVERY LESSON I had. No matter if it was 5 minutes or a hour he was always late. The old lady that answers the phone has a miserable life so she lashes out on people on the phone. She is very rude and needs to be fired. The lessons were a waste of time. I spend at least $600 with them and didn’t learn enough to pass my driving test. Mitch is the WORST TEACHER EVER! He yells at you for any type of mistake. While I’m paying these people for driving lessons, he had me running his errands. We stopped at multiple places for extended amount of time which i am paying for on the road training. Every second I’m with my instructor I should be on the road learning how to drive. Not waiting on 10+ minutes for you to do errands. Waste of time and money
At the time I took this class I was 16 I’m now 17 and never went back for my last class/ test. My brother also took this class and had a similar experience. Firstly I do not believe any of my classes took any of the full 2 hours that it was supposed to be. I’ll say they were about an hour and a half but I paid for 2 hours. Not only that my first class my instructor made me stop at tropical smoothie to get smoothie… second class is when I finally started to learn things and at the end he told me I had to schedule another class or I was going to fail my test. Another 100 dollars on top of 300+ dollars I already paid. Not only that he was quite upset that I came with not much experience. I had driven maybe 2 times before the classes and he asked me “why haven’t you been driving” mind you a driving instructor is telling me this. A PERSON THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE TEACHING ME TO DRIVE. I’m a teenager paying this with my own money and I think this service just played with my money and tried to get more out of me. Also he was on the phone most of the appointment and told me “I’m on my phone so don’t crash this car and kill us both” also he made me take his last client home also taking away from my time to learn

Website shows road test as a standalone package. This is misleading as they require you to take their courses first. Do not use this location if you need a road test only, as they will not provide service.
I don't know why they call this a driving school if they expect you to know how to drive before you have an actual lesson. I signed my daughter up to learn be taught the basics of driving before I took her on the road to learn as I did not feel comfortable teaching her. During her first in car lesson she was expected to know how to already drive and being yelled at because of her skill level. When I met with the instructor after her lesson his remarks to me were that she needs more driving time her turns are terrible etc. Um of course they are she doesn't know how to drive that's what I am paying you for. I would not reccommend this "driving school" unless you already know how to drive in which case it would be totally unnecessary.
All my driving instructors was the best I did everything right in all my classes all driving instructors was impressed with my driving for my age. Just when the test came Candice I think that’s her name she sits at the front desk . The instructor lady was so rude making smart comments and smart remarks about everything I definitely just paid for a piece of paper that approved me to drive then the next day went to the SC DMV and passed my test with flying colors. They definitely need someone different to do the test there.
My daughter has high anxiety and has been terrified of learning to drive. I taught her some of the basics after attending classroom instruction here because she was terrified of being paired with an instructor for in-car sessions. However, she had her first in-car session today scheduled with George P. He was AMAZING!!! He joked with her at the offset and got her loosened up, talked to her during the drive, showed a lot of patience with her throughout the drive and afterwards with the feedback, and she had a wonderful experience even though he took her through all traffic scenarios she could encounter on the first lesson…including the highway, heavy traffic and even a roundabout! She came back gushing about how great he was and how confident she feels after all of that, and feeling like she was scared for nothing. I can’t say how grateful I am for his caring and considerate nature when dealing with her. He’s truly awesome!! Thanks, George! We can’t wait to continue the remainder of her lessons with you and 911!!
Terrible Intimidating Experience my student had today after attempting to complete the Driver’s Road test! After completing with a success the Driver’s Education course and Driving road side hours. She was given the ok by her normal Driver’s instructor the ok with a certificate to schedule soon for the Driver’s Exam. The assigned unknown “certified driver instructor” which he put emphasis on his credentials before taking the student out for the road test didn’t show fit to be an instructor for beginners young driving students that are experiencing driving for the first time. His demeanor during the road test was very intimidating, instructions very vague during the exam. Which caused confusion to the beginning driver student. The instructor was giving the student feed back during the exam of her driving errors and flaws before the exam was completed , which already made the student more nervous and driving confidence moral low for even wanting to complete the drivers exam!!! By the time I witnessed my student drive back into the drivers school parking lot.. I could see the Driving Instructor’s hands waving up and down as if to be scolding and reprimanding the beginner student!! This is not the experience any beginner driving student should encounter during practice driving hours or even at an driving road test!! Remember this should be a positive driving learning experience!!! Encouraging the minor student to be safe successful drivers! Not a drill SGT military drivers course !!! My daughter left the car of the instructor flushed red face and crying!! Student didn’t even want step foot back into the school with me to speak with the “certified driving instructor “! Instructor showed no concern or empathy towards student and proceeded in the building not even a motion to me the parent to come in for the results of the exam!!! When I entered into the school the instructor was on the phone for 10 mins showing no acknowledgment that I was waiting for a briefing on the results of my student’s driving test. I had to let the instructor know as the parent I would like to know the results of the exam.. to better prepare my student for a successful retake of the driving test in the future! Again the instructor showed no empathy during delivery of my students results. Interrupted me in mid sentence explaining my concerns as the parent. Abruptly quoted the schools prices for the drivers exam retake and prices for more driving practice hours with an instructor. As if the prices matter at this point after paying in full for the course and exam already! Then had the audacity to ask a personal question on who was the other parent of the student! Again this was terrible intimidating experience no minor student or adult should experience when learning how to drive or taking a road driving test!!!! I hate that my student had to experience this .. I had two students attending the 911 driving school!! I wouldn’t dare put my other student through this the driving exam experience! Remember this was supposed be a positive milestone experience for the student!!! Not a terrifying belittling moment and non encouraging milestone!! Definitely will not recommend this instructor to be assigned to any future beginners students to experience, especially a Driver’s Education Course and Exam that is not FREE! This should have been a positive impact experience for all beginners driving students! The unknown “Certified Driving Instructor” Mr. Jones FAILED this deliverance of representing the mission of the school positively for 911 Driving School !

Don’t do it!!! Very bad customer service! Can’t get a person reliable to pick up your kid. Paid money for service. 6 sessions and they only did 5. No call no shows most times. Don’t waste your time or money.

I was impressed by the experience of the instructor.. She did not disappoint.
My oldest daughter completed training through this driving school as well as her road test. We didn't have any issues with the service offered and appointments in 2018. We have tried to enroll another child, but classroom dates aren't predetermined.
I requested 50$ refund , no calls and the person who answer the phone will not corporate !

Unprofessional and not very truthful. Signed my daughter up in February to attend a class in March and on the day she was supposed to be picked up, we got a text message saying they lost our phone number and address, so we could reschedule for 2 weeks later! NO THANK YOU!!! How you gonna lose my number and then text me, and say you lost our address and want to drop off paperwork the next day?? Umm, lie much?? We will find someone else to teach our daughter to drive, A school that actually cares and is truthful and WANTS to take our money!!
I like the instructor I had here. They never answer the phone at all. Or if you visit their office no one there either .
