I can’t say enough wonderful things about this driving school! My son was involved in an accident as a permit driver. He was just too scared to drive after that. Dan was patient with him and with proper instruction he has become a confident driver. He passed as the most careful driver with the highest score of the day according to the instructor. We had our other son take lessons with Dan. His favorite Dan quote is “Let’s boogie”. Both my sons also took a class offered by Premier prior to lessons and I feel like it really helped them take driving serious. Great job 👏🏼 Premier Team

The program is amazing I would recommend this school they really work with you and they make sure you make it all the way thru knowing everything u need to know and I mean everything. Steve that's in the class is a wonderful guy and Dewayne, Josh, Bob aka Mr wick and Faith aka Francis are also amazing and they work hard just so u and me can get thru this program they are the nicest kindest instructors and they have a since of humor. Thanks team for helping me get thru. I'm gonna miss u guys. Great program

I am very happy with the education and skills training I received at 160 Driving Academy in Springfield, IL. Steve in the main office was very helpful throughout the entire process. David, our classroom instructor, was great and the yard instructors - Dwayne, Josh and Bob - made things fun and still managed to teach me all the skills and knowledge I needed to learn. After three weeks of going over every square inch of the truck, identifying parts, learning procedures, double clutching, backing up, parallel parking, downshifting ... the CDL test was a breeze. Thank you all!
Everything about my experience of attending 160 driving Academy at the Springfield IL location to obtain my CDL was above expectations! Enrolling was a breeze with the help from Janie in the office. Not only is she very sweet and attentive but she also goes above and beyond to help every student pursue their career! I cant count how many times she answered my calls to help me out when I had a question even if she was off work on the weekend or a holiday... As far as the instructors go Joe and Dwayne are awesome! I have witnessed both of them go out of their way to help students by coming in on off days coming in early or answering calls off the clock. They help in any way possible to make sure you get the education you need. If your not feeling so confident they will make you feel comfortable and remind you that you can and will get what you came for! Jim went above and beyond with teaching our son to drive. He helped build his confidence level up and has prepared him for the driving test more than I ever could. I’m incredibly grateful for his patience and expertise!
We had a great experience with Mr. Pendergrass driving lessons. He is very professional and patient with students that helped them to be confident when driving. My daughter's score was 94 and the officer said she did a perfect job. I am glad to find an excellent driving coach for my daughter and I recommend him to everyone. Thank you Mr. Pendergrass. My daughter had a great experience learning to drive with Jim. He was patient, clear in explaining things, and always made her feel comfortable behind the wheel. We were extremely pleased with Jim Pendergrass' driving instruction. This was our first time to work with him, and I believe it definitely helped our son pass his test the first time. Our son said he gave lots of tips about what would be requested on the driver's exam, and Jim went through the actual test route several times with our son. I had instructor William today 4/07/25 he was a GREAT instructor, takes his time teaching you and gives you great criticism on things you can do better! passed my drivers test thanks to him!
I used them for driving time and sponsor for the exam. I passed, with some great support from William. Nash, the customer service/sales/phone person was phenomenal! I had a situation outside of the normal, which I must say she handled with expertise, kindness, and understanding! She is true gem with phenomenal customer service skills! Appreciate everyone's help, promptness and ease of making this all happen!
Excellent service! I called 24 hrs earlier and scheduled to rent a car for the road test and to use them as sponsor. They told me to get there 45 min early with $140 cash. Joe, a great guy, took me out for a very helpful practice ride and showed me everything expected on the test. Great guys.
Thanks to William I was able to pass my road test on the first try. He was very informative, encouraging, and respected my time and money. I will say the lessons are a bit expensive for one hour and honestly didn’t seem worth it until I was given William as an instructor. The receptionist is always kind and helpful when answering the phone. I did use them for my car + sponsor. Unfortunately that process wasn’t as smooth as i feel like it should have been. I was double booked and had to ride around with another student( before the road test) which took away from 1 on 1 time that either of us could’ve needed before the actual road test. I was also given a different sponsor who wasn’t very kind and very short which honestly made an already stressful day even more stressful. Another thing is different instructors will teach you different things so it gets kind of confusing if you have multiple people telling you to do something a different way especially 15mins before the exam. But ultimately grateful for the tools and experience given to pass the exam.
We used the car rental and sponsor service for road test. The Best Experience Ever!! The receptionist is very kind and helpful. The instructor David, is very professional and nice. He showed us everything we need to know for the road test and emphasizes a lot on key points. My wife and I passed the exam smoothly. A bit pricy, but it’s worth it!

After multiple failed permit tests at the dmv, I enrolled my oldest daughter in the LCDS Permit Preparedness class! It was so worth it because upon completion we went to the dmv, she tested, and got her permit! Then I signed up both of my daughters for the Drivers Ed course. It was amazing knowing that someone with more knowledge of the road, & rules, would teach them the skills needed to become licensed drivers! As a busy mom of 4 I didn’t have the time to spend behind the wheel with them every week. LCDS saved my life. Jessica is amazing & my daughters really liked both of their instructors. They both just completed drivers ed & will soon be licensed drivers! I love that they can go straight to the dmv, no additional testing needed, & get their license. Plus I’ll get a discount on my insurance! Definitely money we’ll spent!
My daughter had a blast in both the permit preparedness class and driving instruction class. She even taught me a few things 😉. Tina and Dan made my daughter more confident behind the wheel and I feel LCDS gave her all the tools and success she needs, to be a safe and responsible driver. I have recommended this business over and over, to all our friends and family who have now also had a positive experience as well.
Teachers Emily and Jessica, driving instructor Patty. They're all super kind and friendly and fairly understanding of error, I'm pretty comfortable being here. Teachers provide good incentives for participation and encourage talking to others and sharing experiences. The break being so early in the day sometimes makes it kind of hard to focus for the whole time depending when we start the test and my class is very early in the morning

Just graduated yesterday. It all starts with your first week of class. The manager Jory is very professional and courteous. Then when you get to the yard and start driving the instructors Jeromy and Steve have a very hands on approach to training you the RIGHT WAY. I will also add that I had a couple of bad experiences at the Strafford testing site, as one of the examiners is not very polite or professional. Jory set me up with a test date at the Willow Springs location. The officer there Earl was very pleasant to test with. I highly recommend 160 Driving Academy for anyone looking to get their CDL. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
Donna and Jory are so good to work with. Donna does a very good job of teaching you the right way and safe way to drive and do maneuvers and the best way to correct your mistakes. I've had a very good experience learning how to become a good CDL driver.
I think anyone that wants to be a truck driver should go to this schoolthe trainer is so good and they make it fun and if u want to be the best learn from the best
I would choose this school over any of them. Jory is very helpful get u going set up with everything. The instructor is great, learned alot from the best instructor out there.
Working with Jory, Steve and Tim was amazing. Jory helped me out when I became sick and needed to reschedule my start date. Steve and Tim at the yard helped me once I got started to catch up and exceed even my own expectations. I can not begin to express the amount of paitence and professionalism that these individuals bring to the table to ensure not only me, but everyone that takes their course succeeds in passing and obtaining their CDL. I would recommend them 100 times over.

I really appreciate Rod for his continuous guidance and help. He is remarkable instructor. I only abled to pass my driving test by following his instructions.
Had a wonderful driving learning experience with Rod. I was new in USA and had no driving experience here in Springfield. Rod is a very nice and good instructor. After taking four driving classes , I passed my Road Driving Test. Always blessed Mr.Rod!
Our daughter had never really Practiced or anything! It was quite scary for us!! But Rod taught her everything he knew!!! She just passed with 100%!! We highly recommend Rod to teach driving!
I highly recommend Rod, he was the best instructor I could asked for. He is fast in replying to messages to schedule the lessons. Before taking the exam, I had zero experience in driving, he explained to me from a-z everything I needed to know. He helped me conquer my fear of driving. He played a huge role in my success. As a student from united driving school, i would highly recommend choosing this school if you really want you child to be in good hands, my driving instructor, Danielle was by far the best driving instructor i could ask for, not a single time was i nervous or scared, she always had us calm and in control, i learned so much from her i cant thank her enough, 10/10 experience, would highly!!!!! Recommend her as your driving instructor .
I took my classes with United driving school and I would like to commend with my instructor Claudia. She’s the best!!!! She’s very professional and will tell you what you need to work on with your lesson. Francheska was really nice too and answered all my inquiries!! I will recommend this place to everyone if you want to get your license.

They don’t teach your child ANYTHING but how to watch a YT video, you will spend more time teaching them how to drive than they will even come close to! They WILL drop the ball and then will blame YOU for their mistakes!! 👎🏻
