Are you kidding me! Amazing teacher and class setting, he made an important part of my child’s life better and helped my son understand what is needed for the drivers test. He goes above and beyond. Highly recommended. Thank you!!
Very easy and fun class! I was unsure about taking it but then Rick made the classroom interesting. He’s real fun and laid back. Don’t be afraid to open up to him. Good guy. You’ll be able to trust him. We had pizza on the last day, so yummy:) good luck to our upcoming drivers!
Ric and Jack were amazing! They helped me to become a safe driver and I passed my drive test today! Thank you! 🙏 highly recommend Double R Driving School! It’s worth every $!
Great place to learn how to drive! The instructors are patient, understanding, and encouraging. Can't recommend it more.
Rick did 1 hr freeway lesson with me where I was able to feel confident and safe with his calm guidance and direction. Rick was pleasant to work with and I was happy to support a local business that has been serving the Reno area for many years. I was confident in Rick’s instruction to refer him to my partner for another 1hr freeway lesson. Best to you Rick and your team.

Got Monte as my instructor great guy really down to earth, helped me learn to ride real quick and on top of it learn how to navigate Reno without gps and use my other senses. Went above and behind as an instructor, highly recommended if anxious about freeways, highways, and city limits.
Monty is awesome. Cleaned up my teenager’s driving over a handful of sessions before his driving test. He passed with flying colors and is safer on the road. I will be back with my next teen!
When I signed up for this class, I was expecting it to be extremely boring and unhelpful. But with Monte as my instructor, I learned so much useful information about life skills and solving problems that I had never been taught before. I am 1000% happy that I didn’t take drivers ed online because this class was engaging and fun and I learned a lot.
I took two classes with Ace Driving School in Reno and passed both my written and road tests on the first attempt. The trainer is honest, teaches you everything thoroughly, and ensures you’re fully prepared. If you want to learn and get your license, these guys are the best—highly recommended!
What a great experience we had with Ace driving school. Monte is top notch, accommodating, very professional and informative! Helped my daughter clean up something’s she needed help with, even let us use his company car for the test! If you are looking for an A rated drivers Ed defiantly call Monte!!!

Well....What can I say about this school and the people. I could not have had a better experience!! Stacey in the office gets you set up step by step and makes it very easy. My guys in the yard though....the instructors....hands down the absolute best...Bob did a great job with skills and getting things set up for test day..Ray is so methodical at explaining and getting you ready on the pre-trip inspection and skills...Damon is a wizard out on the road teaching you to navigate your route... If you want to get your CDL...this is the place to go... I went in and tested today and was 100% without a single doubt in my mind ready and knew I was going to pass, all because of these guys. THANK YOU!!!
This school is fraudulent and a waste of money. They promise training in 4 weeks. Once you pass the point of forfeiting the chance of a full refund, they suddenly realize they are overbooked and they scale yard time to once a week. It will take MONTHS, not weeks, to finish. The phone numbers for all their locations are routed to the same useless call center. If you can even reach someone there they will refuse to provide the contact info for regional and corporate offices. They refuse to fulfill their end of the contract and then refuse to refund your money if you withdraw. They advertise the 40 hr Theory training is free with enrollment but they charge you for it and then refuse to provide transcripts. If you are even considering giving them your money, read the Reddit reviews and BBB complaints. They are not even BBB accredited and the complaints filed are ignored. The yard, if you can even get time there, is just an accident waiting to happen. Understaffed and unqualified instructors.
Don't go to this driving academy or the one in Carson City unless you think you can pass before they kick you out also the person in charge seems a bit shady at this location I tried going back to the driving academy in Carson but found out they completely kicked me out from what the person in charge in Reno told me and having me on hold from what I was told since last year due to I couldn't memorize there script good enough
My experience at the Reno 160 Drive Academy was a 10 out of 10 from beginning to end. By far some of the best mentors I've ever had. They'll do whatever they can to help you learn, but you definitely need to go into this willing to learn and to listen to constructive criticism without getting upset or feeling discouraged. Everyone on this team is amazing. Stacey was really helpful when I signing up for the course, Damon, Matt and Lynn are the instructors at the yard. They're all very experienced drivers and they'll each teach different tips and tricks to better understand things throughout the course. I'm thankful for my time here! I would definitely recommend the 160 Drive Academy in Reno.
The team at 160 driving school is awesome! Stacey made all the paperwork sign up easy and smooth. Damon and Pete are stellar instructors, cool dudes and have a very helpful and patient demeanor. They really set me up for success. Thanks guys.

This is an excellent school for new drivers. I went to the other school in town, it was garbage and I got ripped off. Nevada Desert Truck Driving School gave me the time and attention I needed to get my CDL with good instructors, a good learning environment and the skills I needed to get a job. The other school left me to struggle in a dirt lot in an old flatbed. This school actually took the time to teach me how to drive and the owners are good people who care about the students. 5 Stars.
The school is very flexible, very knowledgeable, and will work with you as much as you need.
I was here from January of 2021 through July of 2021. They work with your work schedule where most trucking schools don’t and Patty, Randy, Michelle, and Pete really know their stuff and if you’re there to learn you will pass your test, and you will go on to get a job with the shortage of truck drivers. I run local so when I’m in Reno I’ll go back from time to time to visit. Good people there.
Is Rick James still around?
We start the school 1 month ago 12/2020 We’are really happy with the school!!! Amazing person and good ambiance Thanks 🙏 😊 PETE/ P&R 🙏😊 ....
