When I first started this school I didn’t know how to drive a manual at all. The owner and teacher Mr. Melvin, with great patience and understanding, taught me how to switch gears and taught me how the truck moves. Now I can back and park an 18-wheeler in any situation. I can even put the truck in an angle and come up out of it at the right time. I’m so happy I chose this school. Mr. Melvin is a great teacher! I’m ready to get on the road with confidence.
I personally know some of the instructors here at the fine academy and Ms. Vontyna Durham in partucular. Professor Durham is a life-long student and consumate professional who is a pillar in the Memphis community. Ms Durham is making a difference in the lives of the youth and the students at the Academy and improving the quality of life in Memphis. Anybody having a problem with her is problematic in general and have their own hidden agenda! The Class A Driving Academy is lucky to have Ms. Durham and the overall quality of the Academy will continue to flourish! Strict discipline is necessary to maintain order and structure to weed out the rift raft from the serious future transporters of America! It is rare to find genuine people who not only live and thrive in the community, but Professor Durham gives back twice as much to her community. Bravo Zulu to Profesdor Durham and to the entire staff and students at Class A Driving Academy and cintinue to keep safety first!
Truly a pleasure attending this driving academy ,knowledgeable , professional and they actually care for each and every student , your not just a number . Ultimately I think that is what sets them apart and puts them ahead of the competition. Class A driving academy is the choice to make !!!!!!

This School is awesome. The setup process was easy and the staff helped me every step of the way. The instructors were amazing!!! Ensured that I knew all of of my pre trip and wouldn’t let me rest until I was clear. Nick, Gary, Brown, and Doc will make sure you are ready for the road before you leave. I most definitely, recommend 160 acadamy to anyone interested in driving.
Definitely learned a lot. My instructors are very good at what they do. If they can teach me they definitely can teach anyone. And they’ve been giving me the confidence to concur my fears while I’m here. Nick, Brown, Jarquin, Doc and Tony are dedicated at seeing you succeed. Sherrod surely did pick a good set of individuals to be on his team.
I want to give a special shout-out to all the 160 driving academy staff members Ms .Monique, Sharrod, Doc, Brown, Nick, Jarquin, Ashley, And Tony for their incredible role in helping me accomplish my CDLs I highly recommend this academy to anyone that's try to receive a CDL trade.
If I could give no starts I would. There's no possible a school should so terrible to where the students want to quit due to feeling robbed. Every part of the contract we've signed has been branched and they still won't give a refund. Your in class 8 hours out of your day and not getting trained You stand around doing nothing g more than anything. They just want your money, there's not enough vehicles to train nor instructors. So exactly why would they keep accepting students knowing we won't receive what we're paying for. The lead sit in the office 7 hours out of the when he know there are lack of resources and could be using himself as trainer. Your in school 160hours with 60hours of training. The school has no accountability for their lack of resources so when you fail it's just your fault. Don't waste your money!!!

Personable instructor. Comprehensive course.
This place is great and affordable. The staff is very accommodating and patient with my teenagers. Anyone who wants their kids to learn the rules of the road and drive, i recommend you bring your kids here

Have not used the school yet but my first impression after talking with lady on phone to get info, was negative. She seemed rude and impatient. Talked fast and seemed frustrated when asked to repeat. Glad I read these reviews. Will not use.
I have had a great experience with Maxwell Driving School. Very detailed information is explained during the classroom instruction. Technical aspects of driving are explained in extreme details. Absolute wonderful program with very professional and experienced on the road driving instructors that encouraged my student to build on his driving skills. I HIGHLY recommend this program.

Thanks for everyone's help at Maxwell Driving School. I periodically take these classes to keep my driving skills honed. I drive alot with work and my personal travel and the driving school keeps me on my toes. It also helps keep my car insurance rates more affordable. I highly recommend this school for everyone. My mother has had a horrible experience with this school. She got a ticket and decided to pay for it instead of fighting it in court. She was ordered to take a defensive driving class but she is not good with technology so I scheduled it for her. The first time they did not send use the code for the class till after it was over. Then weeks later we tried again, this time we had a code, but this time the class never started. I can only imagine the amount of people that this could be happening to but they don't have the technical no how to know it's not their fault. If possible I am going to try and get my mom her money back. When I signed up for the class I wondered why they had a no returns under no circumstances but know I know.

I had a bad experience I don't I would recommend Swift transportation trucking academy to anybody you only get two weeks to train and you have to do a class that you done a virtual class too same exact class it's just a waste of time
Got my physical done, did the virtual class, I called and emailed my recruiter and my processor before I got my CDL permit to see when I would leave and I still haven't heard back from them 🤷...... UPDATE Finally got here Sunday night after driving in the snow. Just to be told there's no school emails been sent saying school is cancelled and yet my recruiter called saying I was put down as a no show for a class that was cancelled. Just keeps getting worse.
Well first and foremost, I would like to give a round of applause to Tom, Robert, and Richard for their bearing patience they had with me!!!🙏🏾 I failed today for my 3rd time.. No I’m not bashing I give props to where it’s due always, overall I had fun meeting all the people I met while I attended Swift Academy. However! I would not recommend them to anyone I was warned before going there. They need to make a lot of changes when it come to examiners and the overall system. It seems as if everything is a secret. I can go on and on but something there isn’t right! I felt like a number and as if I was being hustled and set up! On top of other things. My shot at getting my cdl didn’t seem all that fair. SOME CHANGES NEED TO BE MADE, ONCE AGAIN TREAD LIGHTLY AND WEIGH YOUR OPTIONS BEFORE GOING HERE! I should have done my research before attending, their fail rate is really high. Something is not right at this place! If you can.. I suggest you go someplace else. I attended out of convenience but hey I guess convenience isn’t always the best route to go! Majority of the instructors are too busy running a rat race.The examiners fail you for things you were not taught they are unorganized and need to get on one page.🥺 But hey,Best wishes to everyone.. P.s Again do your research and weigh your options they have a really high fail rate.
I had the best experience there in 2023. I had the best instructor that a person ever dreamt of having . My instructor name is Billy, he was very hard and strict on me because he wanted what was best for me. Safety is his top priority, no excuses. I went there with a mission to get my CdL and start on my goals as being a successful driver. With the help of swift, I was a first time passer, I’m currently a mentor and I’ll be an examiner real soon. I didn’t want the road to be easy, I wanted it to be worth it. At the end of the day, wherever you go, you have to have your mind made up and know your why. Stay optimistic!!!! Everyone in my class passed and now are successful. That year we had an all time high of passing. …. If I can encourage anyone out there that may read this post, remember, this is your dream and your teacher is there to help you you get there. Push by all means and don’t let anyone or anything stop you!!!! Trust the process !!!
A ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! I came from one city to Memphis (my hometown) under false pretense that I would get approved for being a native. I gave up my job and apartment only to be told that I would be ineligible due to me a resident in another city. THEY KNEW THAT because I submitted current paystubs and w2 all saying another city. On top of that there is a permit study group done virtually that I knew nothing about. The place is unorganized and difficult to follow. I’m glad I didn’t stick with it. The recruiter also told me to print a lease off of google and sign it fraudulently. If he boldly told me this like it’s a great idea no telling what else he did. AVOID SWIFT AT ALL COST!!!
