Wonderful instruction in 3 classes, and the fourth one was a clean and nice practice followed by a test to complete. Hector, the instructor was clear with his instructions from the very beginning of his instruction. He helped me learn to speak out and demonstrate what I was doing and observing while driving. That made a huge difference in my learning. Moreover, all concerns about following the rules and keeping us and others safe is essential for a good driver. And I think Target driving school focuses on making good drivers on the road.
Today, June 14, 2025, I successfully passed my driving test at Target Driving School, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible support and training I received - especially from Brandi, my instructor. Brandi stood out with her calm demeanor, deep knowledge, and genuine encouragement. This isn’t just a driving school - it’s a place where you’re set up for success with care, professionalism, and heart. On June 14, 2025 I’ completed my driving lessons and road test at Target Driving School, and I had a wonderful experience. My instructor, Hector was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and made me feel confident behind the wheel. My examiner, Brandi was professional, calm, and encouraging throughout the test. Scheduling was super easy- Jose was always quick to reply and help not only schedule driving but also DMV appointments. Hector was awesome. Gave great direction in a calm manor that put my daughter at ease. She had a different instructor for 4th lesson she said was nice as well. Test was tough but fair and that instructor helped to make sure we got her license the same day. Over all very happy.
I had a great experience with this driving school! The instructor Elias was proactive in teaching, offering clear guidance and environment was friendly which really helped build my confidence behind the wheel. Tuan was an AMAZING instructor. He gave me the confidence I needed to drive! Friends and family have complimented my driving and it’s all due to his patience and amazing teaching method. Went here for my son's driving test. Very professional place, with really great feedback at the end on how to improve. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They made the process of what to bring really easy - all kinds of emails and texts reminding of appointment time and what to bring (which I personally love and NEED). The driving test part was incredibly efficient. We got there a few minutes early, did some paperwork, and his tester got him out on the road soon after. Really great experience. Off to the DMV we go! Thank you!! Side note, there is a really great Vietnamese restaurant around the corner to grab a bite while you wait.
The only star is for the driving instructor, who was excellent. Unfortunately, the front office staff completely ruined the experience. They were rude, unprofessional, and kept making up last-minute “insurance requirements,” claiming they were Texas state rules. When I pulled up the official DPS FAQ showing otherwise, they immediately changed their story and said it was “company policy” — even though nothing like that is listed on their website. This kind of dishonest, money-gouging behavior is unacceptable and damaging to the school’s reputation. Management should take a serious look at how these employees are driving customers away. Overall, a horrible experience. I won’t just avoid recommending this place — I’ll actively warn others to stay away.

Very friendly staff ! Was in and out in about an hour ! I was able to use school vehicle for road test & it was only $25! It was also a great and easy car to drive on road . Instructor was very friendly as well & gave me some advice on how to improve my driving . Overall great experience & affordable services 👍🏽

LaDonna was a very informative instructor. The class was very interesting and she got everyone in the class involved which is important. Although I hope I don't have to take the class again...if I do, I would very much enjoy having LaDonna as an instructor.
LaDonna Claude is definitely great! I loved that she was very interactive with the class and made it enjoyable. I would highly recommend her and his program, fun and the 6 hours go by VERY fast with her!

I just feel like La Donna Claude made the classroom experience more exciting. La Donna made sure her entire class understood the material. I would definitely recommend her to a friend. I would also like to say that I know this women on a personal level and she has a very big heart and would gladly help out anyone who needs it. If your giving her a bad review its because your the type of person who needs to bring people down to feel better about yourself. LaDonna gave a great class, provided information in an easy format which was fun and easy to follow. Able to provide good examples and demonstrations to make her point on certain topics. Good lunch provided during presentation, which made the class time seem much shorter and went by quickly.

I just took a defensive driving class with LaDonna at Funny Bones located at Casa Chapala Restaurant. It was great! LaDonna was very inspirational and passionate about helping people! I was going to take an online class but decided to go to the classroom setting and so glad I did. It was a great experience and I would recommend anyone to take this course. I think they should send LaDonna into the public school system to teach students the affects of DWI. 5 stars for sure!!!!!

Great driving school for lessons and for the road test. Easy to schedule and convenient timing. Road test was scheduled very quickly and instructor knows how to teach driving very well and has helpful tips during the driving lessons.

Convenient, got my test next day. I was nervous going in as this was a big deal for me. The staff is nice and professional. The test route kinda touched on everything I had pedestrians I had to look out for and surprise speed bumps, good route to test your knowledge for sure. Thanks for making a small dream come true of mine I haven't had a valid driver's license in over a decade this means alot to me.
They helped me get a permit and take the driving test! Each time I needed a new appointment for the dps, they made one for me!! That was so much easier than waiting months for a possibility that an appointment slot would open for me to get a permit! I passed my drivers test, first try, and it was really simple. Thank you!

Coastline Academy Driving School is a good place to learn how to drive. The instructors are patient and well experienced, making it easy for students to relate and learn. Jimmy Thornton is an exceptional instructor by all standards and I highly recommend him.
I took a 2 hour adult driving class here with Jimmy T as my instructor. It was an amazing experience. Jimmy was very kind and patient during the class. I was very nervous before the start of the driving session. Jimmy helped me to be at ease while I drove. Thank you Jimmy and Coastline Academy. Going to book some more driving classes with Coastline Academy.
As a student of Coastline Academy I thoroughly enjoy the constant discussion and reassurance with step by step instructions. Having calm and understanding Teachers also helps with navigating and understanding the rules and roads.
My daughter has had two driving lessons with Richard and she says he’s a great teacher - very patient and knowledgeable. Scheduling with Coastline has been really easy, they have a bunch of different places to meet the teacher depending on where you live in Austin, which is great. They also send text reminders before your lesson with the address, time etc. which I really appreciate. So far it’s been a great experience and I highly recommend them!
This is the best driving school in ATX from my experience. They offer pickup and dropoff for students, unlike most places. Easy to schedule, fair prices, package discounts, and good instructors. The only downside is that they don't administer the DPS road test, so you have to go to another place to get your license.

I love the fact that you have the option of doing it online at your own time. The people working there have great communication skills and patience and that’s important to me because I’m one of those types that ask a lot of question and I tend to get discouraged when I feel like I’m being annoying. It’s very lovely having instructors who have patience with you. The online course is very straightforward and it’s very convenient that I can take the written test online instead of the DPS. Definitely would recommend!

LaDonna was very interesting and used the participants’ stories to teach the class. Added to that, she learned everyone’s name within minutes and incorporated our names in the lessons and examples. Her passion is authentic and the 6 hours felt like 1. Lastly, the lunch was good... I had buffalo wings but there was other choices that included hamburger, cheeseburger, grilled chicken sandwich, and soup/salad.
This is a great class for defensive driving. The lunch is great at the restaurant also! The instructor is actually pretty good and funny. I have taken other defensive driving classes and I preferred this one. I live in North Austin but I decided to attend a South class because of my work schedule, and glad I picked this one. I recommend it!

Daughter is using the app and content is basically the same as what she would get in a traditional class. It does the job and the price is good. ** Be extremely alert when signing up on the webform. They charge you unnecessarily for roadside assistance. I already get it from my insurance company. I noticed a $5 charge on my credit card statement. My wife filled out the form and she definitely didn't notice that they had the checkbox pre-filled for roadside assistance. I had to hunt around in the profile to find the place to disable the roadside assistance feature. This seems like a deceitful practice.**
Signing up was super easy. Resources all in one spot and no glitches along the way. I was able to study and test at my own pace.

I had an amazing experience taking adult driving lessons with the affiliated One Stop Driving School where Allen who gave me so much confidence and taught me a lot in a few hours of driving with him. He was incredibly patient, knowledgeable and accommodating. Also such a kind person. I also gave the test through A&K with Maria who was super calm, kind and supportive throughout the driving test (she also made sure to give me pointers as I took a quick lesson beforehand).
I purchased the 3 hour class pack with pick up/drop off.Scheduling when I wanted the classes was very easy and they email you the day before to remind you. The driving instructor is calm and it was very easy to learn quickly. I got the classes done in less then a week and got my license in the same week! I also purchased the driving exam, once completed and passed they put all my paperwork in an envelope and sealed it and I just had to take it to the DPS to get my license. I would definitely recommend this driving school. Both the instructor and examiner are very helpful and kind.

I took behind the wheel driving lessons from the ABC driving school at 1st St. They were very flexible with dates and my availability. Ladies in the office were very sweet and answered all my questions. My instructor, Mr. Reyna, was very professional and full of wisdom. My advise to anyone who is learning from Mr. Reyna, just follow his instructions and you will be fine. I also took on road driving test with them and I pass it on my 1st attempt (without any nervousness). Overall very good experience. Highly Recommend.
had the best experience ever at this school,, the staff that i interacted with so far were cool. I took six 1 hour on the road driving lessons and the instructor Danny was always so nice. he cleared up any questions and doubts I had about driving and always made me feel at ease while on the road. he's patient with drivers and remains calm when you make a mistake. explains everything very well, I got stuff right in a few tries. he's also rlly funny that's a plus. DEFINITELY recommended this school especially if you don't know what to do to get your license also they have a cute dog 100/10 recommend
Do not waste time going anywhere else! They got me in within a day for the DPS road test and actually took the time to explain the process to me. Refreshing after dealing with DPS! Very helpful staff and affordable pricing. Found them late in the process for my 18 year old but will definitely be using them for the younger ones. Thank you ABC Driving School!

I cant remember the name of the instructor but she was awesome! the test was very simple. She understood that i was nervous to take my test and she was very considerate. I did not want to wait the extra month/ month and a half at the dps to get my license so i paid $70 at the austin driving school and passed the very first time! I would recommend that anyone take their test through austin driving school.
Very cool place, I came to take my driving test, I was very nervous. The administrator was a woman, very loyal and nice. The instructor was also a woman, just a dandelion, smiling and kind. I recommend this place to everyone.👍
Looking for a place that is a colossal waste of time? A place that doesn’t value their customers and will give you incorrect info every step of the way. Do you like being hung up on? Do you enjoy speaking with rude incompetent people? Then ask your doctor if Austin Driving School is right for you. Here you will receive the promise of all your teen needs to prepare for their driver’s test only to be given all of the wrong information. But don’t worry, they will promise to get you in once every six months for your teen to practice driving so that by the time they are 35 they will be well prepared to take their driving test! Want to schedule the appointments you already paid for in advance to ensure your kid gets the practice they need? Well, I’m sorry, “we only do our schedule two weeks at a time so you’ll have to call back and wait on hold for 3 hours while being hung up on to schedule your next appointment.” They will also ensure that you get the wrong certificate so that when your teen goes to DPS to take the test they will need to sign up for an entirely different certificate and reschedule their appointment for several months down the road. This place is a disgrace to businesses everywhere. I’ve never seen such incompetence in my life. They never apologize or make things right. They don’t give a rats a** about actually helping teens learn to drive or their customers at all. Go literally anywhere but here!!
Recommended this driving school for taking a road test to all my classmates. The examiner and the front desk person are so kind and patient here. I just passed the road test and am waiting for my dl now.

Most unprofessional behavior I've ever seen. I called to cancel my driving test, was repeatedly put on hold, then told it was canceled and that my money would be refunded. Then I got a text telling me to show up and that since I didn't, they would charge me a no-show fee. When I tried to explain it to them they just barked at me to show up. Extremely infuriating. I still haven't gotten my refund back. Also inconsistent with driving hours. Go here if you desperately need to get your license but honestly know that you're dealing with some of the most aggravating people ever. They have no online system to book a test yet can set up an automated number to bark at you to come. It's the twenty-first century and the scheduling system is from the eighties.
They are really bad, they got you scheduled super slow, whenever i call for a schedule, all they do is put me on wait list, and usually took 2 montha between each drive time. Even though i have a special need for getting done their drive time asap, but they keep me waiting over and over, its been 8 months since i registered and i have only completed 5 class.
I took my driving skills test here. The staff here was super friendly. My instructor(Miss Runge) was so cool that i could take my test relaxed. Overall it was a nice experience 💃🏻
We've put 3 kids through this school over a period of 5 years. They do all the basics well and our kids have learned the things you would expect from such a business. As a lot of the one star reviews say this org is pretty tech illiterate - everything is on paper and/or by telephone. With that being said we just set a reminder for 2pm the day to schedule the next drive and we've had no problem getting good slots.
Very difficult to get a hold of or call back from someone to sign up my son for the instructor led driving portion. Have called serval times, left messages and sent email. No response yet.

Amazing experience at Austin Driving school. I took lessons and the road test with them. My driving instructor was very knowledgeable, thorough and reassured me throughout the lessons. There was a bit of a wait time to get scheduled in for lessons but they managed to get me lessons sooner than they originally said. I liked the examiner too. She told me expectations when I got in the vehicle and asked if I had questions. I felt her instructions during the test were clear. At the end she explained what points she took off and I too was aware of the areas I didn’t do too well in. Overall the process was smooth and I would recommend ADS. I was anxious about driving and also going to test at the DPS. But the team took really good care of me. To the Austin Driving school team- and a shoutout to my instructor Mr M (and Dawn), I know you see a lot of students come and go and I may have been one in 1000 but thank you for making my experience of learning how to drive in the USA a great one. I am truly grateful.
Great place to take a driving test. We went today and were able to take our driving test. The process was very easy, and all of the people are very friendly. Elizabeth helped with the entire process and was very thorough with her help.
I'm not going to gatekeep because I feel this is important, especially for those that are nervous drivers and get nervous during tests. But if you get the female test proctor, she's notorious for failing people. Be extra careful and vigilant if she ends up being your road test proctor. My son was an ADS student and she still failed him. He was not parent or self taught so if he failed, that would be on ADS not on the parent. He eventually passed his retake a week later with FLYING COLORS with a different proctor!!! The ladies inside were super nice and extremely helpful and bilingual! They are very patient and super efficient. Kudos to them they truly run that place!!
The instructor demonstrated he has a lot of experience and patience for learners. The staff overall was pleasant to work with however, the manager there makes very rude comments publicly. For instance, she stated loudly she didn’t know why I was sitting in the black seats by one of the desks without taking in consideration that there was nowhere else to sit when I came back from my driving test. Additionally, I have medical problems with severe back pain that limits me to sit in hard benches for long periods of time. Talking about “it’s a huge pet peeve of mine, why couldn’t she sit elsewhere?” Even though it was nowhere near her desk nor was I in no ones way. They also gossip a lot among employees with no discretion at all not only about each other, but customers that come in.
If i could give less stars i would, THE ROAD TEST IS NOT GETTING YOUR LICENSE!!!! Do not waste your time or money. You will still need an appointment at the dps to process your paperwork. It is a waste of money and time and they don’t want you to know this. Furthermore you have to use the school’s car, not a problem, HOWEVER they do not explain that the instructor can break from the passenger seat and will do so frequently. He yelled at me multiple time during the test for slight mess-ups. He told me i missed a stop sign(however he didn’t let me stop as he breaked before i could) and then told me to cycle back around again. When we got back he said since that happened i failed the first test and that means i had taken both attempts. All of this could have been easily avoided if the instructors or even front desk had explained how the car and the way they tested works. Dont go please save yourself the time. Side note, I passed so this review is not out of spite, i just want to save other people the horrible experience.

This place is like a state office, everyone has a no-emotional face. Quite rude honestly, avoid to go there. Especially the lady facing the front door. Don't care kind of attitude
They have a serious shortage of driving instructors. My kid has had three driving lessons so far (they need seven) and the first one was in November of 2024. The last lesson was almost a month ago. You are placed on a waiting list and will receive a call when they have availablity. Usually the available lesson is within two days and during regular work hours most adults are unavailable. The parent is required to drop the student off at the school, so it's not even possible for the student to just take the bus or ride their bike to the facility. Do yourself a favor and sign up at a different driving school, if you want your child to get their driver license in under a year.
Was not worth the money.
