Today June 3, 2025 I’m completed my driving lessons and road test at Target Driving School, and I had a wonderful experience. The instructor was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and made me feel confident behind the wheel. The examiner was professional, calm, and encouraging throughout the test. I took my driving test with Travis driving school. Great experience with John. He was calm, helpful and respectful. The reception staff are kind and helpful. I would 100% recommend.
Ally was my instructor. She is a very good instructor who cared about whether I was getting the most from my lessons. She is very friendly and helpful. She took note of what I wanted to practice more and gave very useful advice on those aspects. She also helped practice stuff that is not on the test and spent time helping me out on those. Not once did I notice her panicking or getting impatient when I made mistakes but rather she calmly 'steered the ship' back to normal. John's feedback during the mock test was very valuable too. Highly recommend!
Tuan was an AMAZING instructor. He gave me the confidence I needed to drive! Friends and family have complimented my driving and it’s all due to his patience and amazing teaching method. Had a wonderful experience! Front desk assistant was extremely sweet and helpful. LaDonna Claude is definitely great! I loved that she was very interactive with the class and made it enjoyable. I would highly recommend her and his program, fun and the 6 hours go by VERY fast with her!
I took this class with LaDonna Claude and she was excellent. She was animated and kept the class interesting and enjoyable. There was relevant information that could help anyone drive safer. The meal at Texas Land and Cattle is the choice of a burger, chicken sandwich, or soup and salad.
LaDonna was a very informative instructor. The class was very interesting and she got everyone in the class involved which is important. Although I hope I don't have to take the class again...if I do, I would very much enjoy having LaDonna as an instructor.

The class taught by Ladonna was an excellent class filled with laughs and lots of useful information. She is an excellent instructor and I would highly recommend taking a class taught by her.
I was dreading to attend the defensive driving lclass due to 6 hr time commitment, but I felt that Ms. LaDona Claude's class was informative and eye opening especially when she passionately discussed about DWI. She also gave us many real scenarios which must to be aware of in order to avoid getting a ticket or being arrested. The meal at Casa Chapala was yummy and clean place.
The class was worth every dollar I spent! It was funny, Informative, and interactive! LaDonna is the best! She made those 6 hours pass by like a breeze. We got breaks and we got a good meal which included enchiladas of your choice of chicken, beef, spinach, or a salad. With water or tea to wash them down. A little something for everyone’s taste buds! She remembered everyone’s name and called you by such throughout the class. Very helpful to make sure you understood how to receive your certificate and driver records. I want to attend the class again just because she’s amazing. Every single person in the class left satisfied! Thank you LaDonna!!!!!
Ladonna is the best! Location: Texas Land and Cattle near Lakeline Mall. She rock! I’ve learned so much from her that I never heard before;) She made the class interesting everyone get to participate. I am glad I went to her class instead of doing it online. Taking the road test at Atx driving school was a great and wonderful experience. My instructor was very appealing and composed when watching me drive. I passed the test and recommended everyone to take their road test here because its a more delightful experience compared too pflugerville DPS.
I only used the driving school to sit my class exam and practical exam. Overall it was good although I would appreciate if there was better communication. I wasn’t told that I needed to take my class test results to DPS to get my learner permit so I arrived to my test without it (I’m from England so I appreciate that I don’t know the rules) but yes just a little better communication. Otherwise great service.
Had a great experience with ATX Driving School’s road test! The track was well-designed and covered all the key driving skills like parallel parking, reversing, and real-road driving. I had no option but to take a course. After shopping around I found the price to be quite a bit less expensive. I took the online course which allowed me to get in get it done and go. But do t go to fast they do .ake sure you're paying attn with some questions. My response ti.e from them was impeccable answering every question.

I really appreciate Jeff T.’s calm and clear guidance during our lessons, as well as the helpful tips that he shared. It eased my nervousness and I feel like I made a lot of progress with my driving skills. We also covered a lot of content in each session. I’ve taken driving lessons with other schools in Austin, but Coastline has the best instruction and I would highly recommend Coastline for first time drivers.

This is the best driving school in ATX from my experience. They offer pickup and dropoff for students, unlike most places. Easy to schedule, fair prices, package discounts, and good instructors. The only downside is that they don't administer the DPS road test, so you have to go to another place to get your license.
I asked this guy not to smoke 5 feet from the entrance. He was aggressive, cussed at me in front of my daughter and showed the middle finger several times. I watched him smoke a second cigarette in the same spot. His company vehicle was parked up on the sidewalk also very close to the entrance and blocked the sidewalk. I will always say something to someone so rude to smoke 5ft from the door as new borns and children have to walk by a breath his second hand smoke. I watched this individual for 15-20 minutes as he leered at the woman and loitered. When you see a bad apple, you have to say something. I ask for him to be fired ASAP. I took a 2 hour adult driving class here with Jimmy T as my instructor. It was an amazing experience. Jimmy was very kind and patient during the class. I was very nervous before the start of the driving session. Jimmy helped me to be at ease while I drove. Thank you Jimmy and Coastline Academy. My experience with Get Drivers Ed was wonderful and timely. I didn't feel anxious or stressed when it came to test time. I was not under any pressure to finish the class within 6 hours and was able to go at my own timeframe. It was easy to understand and completed the tests accurately.

LaDonna was very interesting and used the participants’ stories to teach the class. Added to that, she learned everyone’s name within minutes and incorporated our names in the lessons and examples. Her passion is authentic and the 6 hours felt like 1. Lastly, the lunch was good... I had buffalo wings but there was other choices that included hamburger, cheeseburger, grilled chicken sandwich, and soup/salad.
Ladonna Claude was an amazing instructor! Made this boring class really fun. Really recommend signing up for her class.

The app itself worked well and my son was happy with the experience until he went to take the state permit test. 25 minutes in the test was cut off without warning after only answering 20 questions resulting in a failing grade. Bummer, but not a big deal since he had 2 more attempts left. What they fail to tell you is that if you need to use a second attempt it costs another $25. Feels like a scam system to get more money.

I bought a DPS Test and an hour of preparation at this school. I have never been yelled at for an entire hour like I was at this school. I studied at another school but decided to take the test at this one because there was time and the school’s rating on the map was quite high. At the school where I was studying, they always spoke to me calmly and politely. During the entire training period, the teacher never touched my steering wheel or steered instead of me. At this school, during that hour of preparation before the exam that I bought, the instructor shouted at me, constantly touched the steering wheel, and tried to steer for me. For some reason, she even signaled to a squirrel in a neighborhood, although there were no cars around, and the animal did not stop me from passing. She was angry that I didn’t make a left turn in front of a truck that was already driving in the same lane and was pretty close to me. She constantly distracted me with her strange phrases when I was driving. I felt terrible; I did not expect such a disgusting attitude from a driving school with such a high rating. As a result, when my exam began, after 2-3 seconds, she shouted "FAILED" (although even in the DPS police, they don’t distract you during the entire route; they let you drive the entire route, and only at the end, they tell you whether you passed or not). I didn’t pass because, in her opinion, I was not driving at the speed she wanted (although, again, even in the DPS police, they only deduct points for this if the difference is minimal and you start to slow down). My speed was within the limit. I'm very upset and would like my money back.
I tested today with Ms Maria Menchaca and it was an awesome experience. I was very nervous before the test but Ms Maria was so nice and put me at ease completely. She takes the responsibility of testing seriously but still maintains a very calm and friendly attitude. She gave a very detailed summary of where I lost few points, and also makes it a point to give positive feedback. The booking process was smooth and they were able to accomodate my dates for testing. Though I did not have lessons with them, I would highly recommend this school for any one learning or testing. A great experience and once again Ms Maria, thank you. And yes, I passed :-)

My driving test was done today morning. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment. The total amount I paid was 95$. I paid 25$ online during booking thru phone but the 70$ should be paid in cash.You need to bring cash on the test day. I was really nervous! But i kept on smiling. My examiner was Mr. Hugo Reyna. He was so cool during the test. The first thing i did was parallel parking. I was being honest with him, i told him im not good at it. Parallel parking is 9 points according to him. If you don’t want to do it that’s fine but your score will automatically be deducted. So I tried my ultimate best to do it! He just smiled at me when it was done. Then we proceed to the road. He will instruct you where to go. Pay attention on the road sings, traffic lights, mirrors and the speed. Make sure to stop on the school zone! The previous guy who did it was failed because of that. When we arrived back on the office i did the reverse parking and then the evaluation if you pass or fail. And i did it!! I passed! Thank you Hugo and the staff of ABC!

Choosing ABC Driving school was the best decision I ever made. I''m in my early 20s and I had no driving experience and zero confidence behind the wheel of a car. That all changed once my driving instructor Mr. Hugo Reyna taught me everything I needed to know about how to become a better driver! :) They teach you not only the things you need to know on your driving test (which you can take with them btw) but they also take you to practice in residential areas, downtown, and even on the highway! I couldn't have asked for a better instructor: Hugo is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, kind, and very professional! He didn't give up on my no matter how many mistakes I made. He made sure I had all the sufficient practice he knew I needed to take the test. He kindly led me to the direction I needed to complete my road test. It's because of him I'm a much better driver now! After taking their 10 hour course back in Aug/Sep 2022, passing the drive test, getting my license, and then getting more personal practice behind the wheel for 4 months, I officially purchased my very first brand new car yesterday!!! :D I feel so much confidence behind the wheel now, and I get so many compliments on my driving skills from family and friends. Do not waste time going anywhere else! They got me in within a day for the DPS road test and actually took the time to explain the process to me. Refreshing after dealing with DPS! Recommended this driving school for taking a road test to all my classmates. The examiner and the front desk person are so kind and patient here. I just passed the road test and am waiting for my dl now.
It was a great experience, the instructor- an old man, he was so good, complimenting for my driving, he was phenomenal, after having a very bad experience with south Austin branch I’d lost hope of ever getting a license, but this branch is so good, everything was on time and the instructor, he’s a great human being, loved the test and passed. He seemed more excited than me, first time I enjoyed taking a test.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!!! My family wasted $400 paying for their in-person course, all for them not to do their job and ultimately help get me a license. In the beginning it was fine, they taught me what I needed to know and let me drive around in town to learn, which all went well, and I passed my test and got my permit. HOWEVER, when it came to getting my DL, the office was slow to respond, they sent me the wrong certificate to take the road test, claimed that I had already picked it up when I had not, which I had to pay extra for. The certificate they sent me wasn't the original and was unsigned. And it took over two weeks to get the "copy" from them, even though they said they would send me the right paper. It's been a lot of back and forth with this company, and they've only added more work as they haven't been of any help. And now I have to take a different course, which I have to pay for, to get my DL. Honestly, I would just recommend teaching your children or whoever is wanting to go here, yourself, or invest on an online course with someone else.
I cant remember the name of the instructor but she was awesome! the test was very simple. She understood that i was nervous to take my test and she was very considerate. I did not want to wait the extra month/ month and a half at the dps to get my license so i paid $70 at the austin driving school and passed the very first time! I would recommend that anyone take their test through austin driving school.

I have had the pleasure of scheduling the driving test for a relative with them, and they were very professional and kind. I recommend using them since they were fast, clear, and consistent with their instructions . This place was also faster to schedule and sooner than using the DPS Road Test appointments scheduling.
Austin driving school was absolutely wonderful to me!! Their 6 hour course was online which was wonderful for my schedule, and when I was able to book my road test with them, they gave me a 10 dollar coupon off the drive test!! THREE WEEKS LATER I got a reply that was just a copy paste of their FAQs regurgitating their course options and fees which includes behind the wheel courses. After all this there’s a disclaimer at the bottom of the email: “NOTE: Our Austin Area Offices are not currently accepting Adult Behind-The-Wheel Students until further notice. You may still take our Education course to obtain your permit, but no driving lessons are being offered in the Austin Area. “ So in other words a company named AUSTIN DRIVING SCHOOL has zero actual driving courses in Austin. Definitely don’t bother coming here. I’m sure there’s a reason Texas revoked their license and that’s reason enough for me to avoid them.
Called Tuesday afternoon to schedule a driving test, scheduled for Friday afternoon same week. Office paperwork went smoothly, and one-time, driving instructor was calm and reassuring for my son during his test. Well worth the expense and then simply had to drop off the paperwork to get his license. Recommended.
DO NOT USE THIS SCHOOL. Trying to schedule at the Anderson Mill/Northwest location of Austin Driving School has been an overall abysmal experience. I was told that my daughter would be done with her 14 hour driving/observation experience in January of 2020, and now, at the end of November 2019, she has only been scheduled for 6 hours. And they are completely booked for the rest of the year. The office is disorganized and unhelpful. Please take your business elsewhere.

Great place to take a driving test. We went today and were able to take our driving test. The process was very easy, and all of the people are very friendly. Elizabeth helped with the entire process and was very thorough with her help.
Had a great experience here. The service was fast, as I was able to schedule a testing date quickly. The day of the testing was completed on time. Everyone, especially my driving instructor, was very polite and helpful.
I'm not going to gatekeep because I feel this is important, especially for those that are nervous drivers and get nervous during tests. But if you get the female test proctor, she's notorious for failing people. Be extra careful and vigilant if she ends up being your road test proctor. My son was an ADS student and she still failed him. He was not parent or self taught so if he failed, that would be on ADS not on the parent. He eventually passed his retake a week later with FLYING COLORS with a different proctor!!! The ladies inside were super nice and extremely helpful and bilingual! They are very patient and super efficient. Kudos to them they truly run that place!!

Regarding your answer, according to your philosophy, I don't know how to drive when I have driven for 17 years and in 3 different cities in Europe without any problem. In that sense, I came to Houston, I took the test drive without any problem and it was approved, I attach a photo of the test. The problem you have is that you are frustrated, incompetent, paranoid, arrogant. You believe that I invented the universal driving laws around here and you answer the faults that I supposedly had, but when I got out of the car you told me totally different things. I give you free advice, explain yourself well, speak clearly, concisely, without detours, get straight to the point, don't believe the GOD of the steering wheel. It's a shame that all the negative comments from the driving school are directed towards you. there is some problem then. Maybe you are the one with the problem. God bless you
Do yourself a favor and call them! My son and I had been struggling with DPS and another driving school for months, ADS helped us resolve it all in a day. They are so nice and helpful, night and day difference from the others. Would absolutely recommend! 💯

Use Aceable instead. Austin Driving school costs ~$500 only to teach the classroom portion & seven hours of the driving portion parents will still have to teach ~ another 30 hours of driving. They only give your kid one hour a month for drive time so it will take your kid at least seven months to finish. It’s cheaper and faster to use another company called Aceable and you will still get an insurance discount. They don’t know the difference between being understaffed and overbooked, they keep taking on more kids to rotate into their driving time hours even though the other children are months behind where they should be. I have a real concern that due to the delays between the classroom and actually practicing the driving with the instructor the children are not going to properly be able to retain the material. They could not complete the classroom portion on time and let the non driving minor children make the decision on the additional class days they felt like attending instead of contacting their parents (who have to drive them / coordinate a work schedule) and teaching on a Saturday that was already part of the schedule. We are waiting upwards of a month just to get a 1 hour driving / 1 hour observation appointment. We show up for the appointment at 8 AM and no one is there. There are no people to call at 8 AM at the location or the main call center. Finally reach someone around 8:30 AM when they open only to be told they called and canceled the appointment however the phone number they claim to have called does not have a record of them calling nor a voicemail. They did not even bother to follow up to confirm we receive the message they claim to have left. When I spoke with them about rescheduling they were not able to help and told I’d have to call back around 10 to speak with someone else even though this is the number they provide for scheduling during working hours and we specifically had advised previously that we would go to any of the locations just so we could start getting hours. I do not recommend them as they are quick to answer the phone and work with you when they want to take your full payment however they do not have the staff to timely continue the required driving time after the classroom time. This isn’t a new concern for them I had been speaking about them with someone else who used their school a few years ago and they said they had to wait over seven weeks to complete their driving hours because they just did not have the staffing to offer the driving time timely. When I had taken my driver’s education previously with Austin Driving School I was able to quickly get my driving hours in every few days but it has been a long time since then and their overbooking has made me seriously regret taking my child there.
Good drivers school
They don't have the staff to support this business. My son has been in this school for almost 5 months just trying to complete the driving and observation, but there are never any spaces available unless you pull your kid from school early. Their available schedule only comes out on Monday and it's full by lunch. Saturdays are booked out months in advance and no one at the school cares at all since they already have your money. Find another place or just take the time to do this with your kid. It will save you a lot of stress and anger dealing with their schedule. Horrible experience.
Loved it, great people/ instructors! Everyone was very nice.
